this book is written to be in line with the new edexcel maths gcse - which is has quite a different structure to the older courses. it's full of questions in nicely arranged categories, and they are even graded so you know if you are trying a B grade questions or one that is A*. there's no answers, but i believe there are other books in the series that can be purchased that are work/revision books.
A good buy.

Dreadful book. Explanations badly versed and exercises not at correct level. Will be out of date by 2012 and so a waste of money

A note of caution if purchasing this book. It has clear and concise questions but does not contain the answers. My advice would be to only buy it if you are confidently able to mark it. The answers can only be accessed from Edexcel or Pearson (publisher) websites but only if you are a maths teacher with an access password. I completely understand that this ensures it provides practice books exclusive to the school setting but this information needs to be provided in Amazon's description of the book. I presume all the PRACTICE books in the series will have answers that are password protected.
