Rosehip oil is high in essential fatty acids, especially omega 3 and 6. It is also a good source of retinoic acid, making it a prized oil for its ability to repair damaged skin tissue.

As a background. I am a 22 year old, with combination & acne-prone skin. I don't have consistent acne as I used to do in my early teens, but every now and then I will get a couple of white-heads. My skin is pretty thick, textured, and with lots of noticeable pores (that always make sure to let me know when I am using something they don't like, in the form of pimples and blackheads).
Coming back to the oil, my skin simply does not like the consistency. It's like half of it sinks into the skin, and the other half just sits as an uncomfortable film on top, regardless of how much you put on your face. I tried this both on its own, mixed with my moisturiser, and mixed with another oil (hemp, which for me works beautifully on its own). The result was always the same, rosehip would always leave an uncomfortable residue on my face. It has also produced some of the most ENORMOUSLY PAINFUL cysts on my face. I had one near the corner of my eye that was so big my partner asked if I have been hit or something. Now I am 100% positive they were due to the oil. I may have acne-prone skin, but I haven't had cysts in years (I usually have just whiteheads), and they only started to appear a couple of days into me using rosehip oil. The moment I stopped using it on my face, they were going away. I tried adding it on my hair, as I heard it can be very softening, but to be fair it does no miraculous difference than my BETTER SMELLING branded dry oil does, at a fifth of a cost. I bought it thinking if it doesn't work for me, I might gift it to my mother, as I heard it can help with wrinkles. I will probably keep a small amount in a dropper bottle to use around my eyes. I will give it credit, I have had severely dry corners around my eyes for 2 years now, and nothing helped, but this (mixed with another moisturiser, just to help it sink in better into my skin) has remover the painful flakiness, and reduced the fine lines I had gotten as a result. No other oil has helped me with this, so kudos for that. But since this is the most expensive oil I have bought to date, I am not sold at all.
Best oils so far,
