WOW an amazing first book to AJ's new Future series which is set further ahead after her The Golden Key Chronicles, we get to see the fiercely loyal and driven Princess Faedrah take afte into her own hands and try and defeat the evil that is haunting her dreams and causing her stressed out Parents the King and Queen such Worry.

Trained by some of the best warriors and her father King Caedmon she takes a leap which leaves her in an unknown world and unknown time as she hunts those that haunts her dreams. Aided by the wise one's know to her as Uncle's she seeks out the one who is drawing her from memory yet they have yet to meet, as they meet and their lives intwine there is a sense of security which is instantly slashed leaving us on a cliff !!!!

Yep an awesome read with such twist and turns you get drawn into the world of the unknown, familiar old characters are once again aiding in their quests to protect their loved one's and with evil lurking everyone must be prepared.

Princess Faedrah and her interaction with the sexy and complicated Rhys only intensify's and draws the connection for the two characters together and as they discover their fates are entwined forever what will become of the growing romance.

Fantastic read loved the Uncles and the story as a whole loved the way Rhys is second guessing his actions and showing he wants to be a gentleman to Faedrah as i'm sure King Caedmon will appreciate when the two finally meet !! Well maybe !!! we shall see. ohhh i can't wait for part 2

You might remember that the four installments that make up The Golden Key Chronicles gave me upteen sleepless nights earlier this year. Well I'm pleased to say that the first book of its sequel series is shaping up to be much the same.

After wooing us with Prince Caedmon in the first series, now we have a reversal and a modern-day hunk as the love interest. Happy to report that Rhys is equally as swoonsome, especially if you're in to the more 'alpha' males! Faedrah is charming, her confusion with the 'modern world' done well and with a light-touch, her innocence chiming well with worldly Rhys!

LOVED seeing all our old favourites in their happy middle-age (and pleased to see Rowena and Caedmon are still at it like rabbits!) and WHAT A HORRID CLIFF-HANGER. Can't wait until The Sacrifice arrives on my Kindle and I can continue the ride...

I would like to thank Harper Impulse for approving me to read this on NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Since AJ announced she was writing a follow-up to The Golden Key Chronicles I have been dying to read these but as I knew once I started I would be dying to read them all I have been saving them until all the books have been released and what perfect time to post my reviews than #HIFortnight.

This first book is set twenty years after The Golden Key Chronicles and when we first meet Faedrah she is training to follow her mother into the Elite Palace guard. Faedrah has a lot to live up to as her mother is Rowena from the chronicles. In a way, I feel sorry for her as she has a lot to live up to and is trying too hard. Faedrah makes a rash decision to disobey her parents and jump through the time. Where she then meets Rhys and her life is turned upside down. Rhys is a very talented artist, but all his paintings are of Faedrah, so much so that everyone thinks he is mad. He isn't mad he's very hot, how can Faedrah resist him?

Faedrah struggles to make sense of her destiny and slowly she lets Rhys in. Together the make a formidable team just like Rowena and Caedmon before them. Rhys finds that he wants to protect her.

AJ teases us with what they are to face to prove their love and there is always a dark shadow looming in the background. This a really great beginning to Faedrah and Rhys story and I know from previous books of AJ’s they life won’t be plain sailing. AJ pulls the story along at a fast pace and ends with a cliffhanger, so of course I had to read the next one (I knew I would never have been able to wait for it to be originally published).

If you like a touch of fantasy and romance then these books are definitely for you.

Thank you to Harper Impulse for accepting my request via Netgalley. I had previously read the Golden Key Chronicles and when I saw this on Netgalley I just had to request it.

This book picks up many years after the end of the Golden Key Chronicles. The book focuses on Faedrah Austiere, the daughter of Rowena and Caedmon. Faedrah has spent her life feeling like she doesn’t deserve to be the daughter of such heroes. She feels inferior and that nothing she will do will live up to her parent’s story. This leads to her jumping through the mirror just as her parents did before her. I thought that she was extremely hard on herself and that she deserved every bit of her place in the kingdom.

Rhys McEleod is one hot, tortured artist. He has a bad boy vibe from the moment you meet him. His whole life he’s been tortured by Faedrah’s face, painting her for as long as he could remember he was shocked when he finally met her.

I adored this story. It was exciting to see feel the chemistry sizzling between Faedrah and Rhys before everything exploded. It was really great to see Rowena and Caedmon, and Oliver and Jon again. I enjoyed seeing how their lives panned out.

This book is very well written and the transfer between the past and the present was perfect. I am really looking forward to the rest of the series.
