The kit includes everything you need to get started -5 growing pots, 5 peat blocks and 5 plant markers
Individual packets of purple carrots, red Brussel sprouts, stripy tomatoes, yellow courgettes and multi-coloured Swiss chard
Sealed in foil sachets for freshness and with enough seed for multiple sowings!
Our kits are made in Great Britain and contain 100% NON – GM seeds.


Purple Carrot Ditch the traditional orange carrot - the purple carrot will jazz up your meals with their vivid colour and peppery flavour. Known to be one of the ‘superfoods’ to boost health and wellbeing, purple carrots are rich in vitamin C & K and low in calories.	Red Brussel Sprouts Brussel sprouts – you either love them or hate them, but these delicious red Brussel sprouts are sure to get a positive response from your dinner guests. This type of sprout offers a milder flavour with a nuttier taste in comparison to the usual green variety.	Stripy Tomatoes Stripy tomatoes are sure to raise attention when mixed into salads or garnishes. These enormous beefsteak type tomatoes are red and yellow-hued with a striped patterned skin.


Yellow Courgette Courgettes are perfect for adding raw to a lunchtime recipe or side dish. These yellow courgettes are a type of summer squash that will add a bright splash of colour to your main meals.		Multi coloured Swiss chard Multi coloured Swiss chard impresses in both looks and flavour. Their vibrant rainbow leaves will look amazing when planted in the garden or served on your plate. The baby leaves will taste great when served raw in salad, while the larger leaves can be cooked like spinach to accompany meat.

How to Use

The grow your own funky veg kit provides detailed instructions on how to plant the seeds, for them to grow to their full potential. It includes 5 growing pots, peat blocks and plant markers. Soak the peat disc and squeeze out excess water before placing into the peat pots. Sprinkle a few seeds in each pot - there will be enough seeds for multiple sowing.

How to Use

Keep the soil moist but not wet, just enough for small particles of soil stick to your finger tip, otherwise, seeds may begin rot before they begin to germinate. Vegetables grow in well-drained soil. Water when the soil feels dry to the touch.

How to Use

The vegetable seeds will need exposure to sunlight to grow, due to the concentrated vitamin D exposure. Please read the instructions provided, as some vegetables may require different exposure levels to maintain full health and growth.

Everything great - good fun with added interest of the funky colours, just harvesting the first of the chard, the carrots and tomatoes are well on the way and we’ve had plenty of the courgettes (more than we know what to do with) it could be the hot summer we’ve had but every single seed grew so we had to give some plants to family and friends! Just waiting on the sprouts later in the year through the plants are growing well.

Just a word of advice - white cabbage butterflies love to eat the sprout plants (brassica family) so you need to cover them with net if you can before they eat them all!

They said it all tasted great and we're able to grow so much that they gave alot out to the Greek locals (although it took some explaining that they were to expect striped tomatoes and purple carrots etc). This went down really well with my mum for mother's day. She loves growing things, and this is something a bit different. The box was a lot smaller than I had expected, but it is basically just small tiny pots and some seeds - I don't know how much it would cost to buy these seeds individually, but it made quite a nicely presented present. Some of the seeds have started growing, but too soon to say whether my mum actually gets any vegetables!
Update 1st December 2017. All of the seeds grew and my mum got vegetables from all the plants, bar one - she is being patient and hoping for some next year! She and I were really pleased with this gift.

I am bit dissatisfied with my delivery. I bought this as present for my gardening keen friend. Package arrived well on time and the outside packaging was in perfect confition. When I opened it I was bit stunned about the damage on the side of the box but I thought no worries its just box. When I went to open it was obvious somebody opened it before me As the lid was slitly bended... Following that i wanted to see how it all looks. As you can see on the picture I am meant to have 5 of everything!! 5 pots, 5 peat blocks, 5 plant markers and 5 packets of different seeds. I have courgette, carrot, chard and brussels sprots but no tomato... very dissapointed as this has obviously happened before the parcel was packeged into the postage bag!!!!

A great product. Everything grew incredibly well apart from the carrots (although I'm told that carrots are notoriously difficult to grow anyway). Leave plenty of space for your vegetables to grow and cover with nets when transferring outside. The yellow courgettes were extremely prolific and I harvested about 6-10 per week over a 6 week period. Don't expect supermarket-sized vegetables, the varieties come up smaller than that but are very tasty anyway.

OMG! I bought this as a present for my girlfriend at Xmas, we now have triffids growing in our conservatory, not tomato plants:).

Although the pesky slugs had a nice meal of some of the other plants the slug pellets we used on the tomato plants worked a treat.
