Possibly the least commercial rap album ever, Funcrusher literally slams you around the room on first listen and still has the power to stun after your tenth. i played to a dr. dre fan when i bought it and he could only listen to 1 minute before concluding that i was a bit heavy for him. be warned this album is very uneasy listening and is up there with dr octagon and scaramanga as the best albums to ever come out the hip hop underground

Great album full of twisted rhymes and mostly dark beat production.Faves are last good sleep and 8 steps to perfection,i would recommend giving this a listen if you like underground/independent hip hop.

Beleive me when I say you need this album. Probably my all time favourite album... its just that good. A landmark and truely original underground album. Its dark, raw and down tempo, funky and jazzy in places. Everything about this album is dope (even the cover art). El-P and Big Juss are excellent emcees (check out El-P on "Last Good Sleep). Other standout tracks include "8 Steps To Perfection", "Vital Nerve" and the "The Fire In Which You Burn" by the Indelable MCs (Co Flow, Juggaknots & J-Treds). Basically, go and buy this now.

Company Flow have a really different sound, with great production and fantastic emcees. A friend recommended Funcrusher and he said it was one fo the best records he owns. He was right. CoFlo pirde themselves on their independent sound, which is really strong on the record. This isn't like your normal big label hip-hop, it's dark, sometimes heavy, the loops and beats are inspired and they rhymes are ranging from regular emcee ego stuff (but with more style) to intense brooding commentary. I love it.

The debut album from New Yorks Company Flow saw the beginning of the hip hop revolution. Lyrical content, production and all over image moves towards a new era of futurism. Heavy, dark beats teamed with tight emceeing takes the listener into the paranoid minds of El-P and Bigg Juss whilst Mr.Len rips it on the decks. This album has to be one of the greatest hip hop albums ever with classics such as '8 steps to perfection' and the mindblowing 'Collude/Intrude' featuring J-Treds. El-P's production is legendary, starting the legacy which has led to Cannibal Ox(the greatest hip hop act of all time.)Listen to Company Flow , listen to Cannibal Ox, start the legacy here.

ha this is for heads who can appretiate abstract beats and flows and can manage to understand crazy metaphors el_p the rapper/producer is and underground legend and has now got his own label with real artists but back to this album it has like a alien feel like marsian ghetto music and unique and diverse in so many way you have this other dude bigg jus who.s flow is the illest out of the two and dj mr len providing a few cuts i only got this back in 2003 and still bang out and vital nerve and 8 steps to perfection are personal faviroutes this is not for ya candy shop, crunk fake rap types only true b.boys will feel this dark and abstract beast ,a ground setter for alot of the left side underground material out now !!
