I bought this book for my 7 & 9 yearold boys and it has been a great hit with them. In fact, it is the 'go to' book in the evening as they love challenging us with riddles and brain teasers. There are chapters that test how well you know people and the questions in them get some good chats going.
I initially was drawn to this book due to the 'unplugged' in the title as I was very keen to get my 9 yearold having less screen time. It actually has had the knock on effect of us playing more board games and cards ourselves as it has shown that if fun games and interaction become part of the evening (rather than, I confess, watching TV) my kids are not as addicted to computers as I thought.
I think that it is the interactive nature of playing a game that may be the draw towards computer games for my guys, so the non-computer games in this book have provided a great alternative.
All in all a great idea and a super book. I hope that there are more like this coming down the track...
I bought this book for my 11 yearold daughter and she loves it. Yes, it keeps her away from her tablet but it also helps her to think and use her brain as well as interact with others when she tries the stuff out. Really good book for kids and us grown ups have enjoyed it too!
Got this for my 10 yearold and gave it to him as I dragged him away from his X-box. He was glued to it for hours! Loved the magic tricks, the fun facts and games. Makes me want more books like this for the kids! Highly recommend for all families. Fun for the kids to read, encourages great play and even some cool tricks for the adults too!
