As for the story, it was sweet, with some hot moments and lots of likable characters. And I hope there will be more to come from this series in the future; and I would happily recommend this one to others.
"Holy s***. The new guy wasn’t a guy."
Scott Kincaid has featured throughout and, after events in the last book, we see him decide to kerb his womanising ways. With his brother-in-law and Engine 59’s Lieutenant out of action for a while, a temporary LT is brought in. Enter Jamie Rutherford; a lady who will take no prisoners when it comes to putting any man in his place who dares to question her career choice or capabilities.
"I intend to break rules with you whenever we have an opportunity."
The old adage “never mix business with pleasure”? Pffffft. Scott and Jamie may put out plenty of fires, but away from the station they create their own heat. And they're great together; with a natural, passionate chemistry low on drama and angst, it's always simmering away in the background that she's his boss and is only in post temporarily. And whilst I loved and appreciated her for her independence and quiet strength and temerity in not accepting any suggestion that her femininity was a weakness, there were odd moments when I couldn't quite grasp her thinking, because Scott was a complete sweetheart; just the perfect mix of protective, sexy, fun and honest.
"It doesn’t have to be complicated."
With the lives of Scott's family and friends evolving and the Engine 59 guys all being important to the story, this was a pleasure to read. Whether there's to be more in the series I don't know, but if there is, I'm there.

The plot is good. The characters are funny and lovable. The romance is hot. And there is just enough drama to make the story flow nicely.
I mean how can a story about firefighters not be hot. And don't even get me started on that cover.
If you like contemporary romance this is a winner. It is a sweet, easy read that is perfect for the beach, summer, or anytime really.
Hot,hot, hot. Great short romance which I read in a few hours. Intense chemistry between the two main characters. Nothing too deep but fulfilled the requirements for a lighthearted and easy read
