Janet Evanovich is one of my fav chick lit authors, so I was really excited to start this series as her Plum books make me laugh out loud (which is quite embarassing if you are reading it in the lunch room at work and people turn to stare at you after a very loud snort...). These are not quite as laugh out loud funny, but the characters I think have a bit more substance and I like the change of venue to South Carolina. Just goes to show that Janet's writing ability is not a fluke, she is a talented writer with the ability to bring life to these fictional characters. Light, easy, uncomplicated read - great to pick up for the summer beach bag!

I love Janet Evanovich's 'Stephanie Plum' books but these co-written with Charlotte Hughes are dire! Evanovich's natural fast wit has been truly crushed by the twee and trite phrases I can only assume have been influenced/written by her co-author.

Nice easy read, a little slow to start with. But as a book to read with ease this is it. Same format as Stephanie Plum books but set in the southern states, not sure about Muffin the on board human style computer if that really works.
