About the Author

Gill Sanderson is really Roger Sanderson, an ex-college lecturer in English Literature and Outdoor Pursuits. He took early retirement to become a writer and has now written nearly fifty medical romances for Mills & Boon and Accent Press. Much of his medical information comes from three of his children; Helen is a midwife, Mark a consultant oncologist, Adam a medical supervisor. Roger divides his time between climbing in the Lake District and writing in Liverpool.

I would love one day to be able to read a medical fiction book (or watch a TV series) that, as a medical professional, I find convincing, but unfortunately this wasn't it. I appreciate that most people won't pick up on the technical details (or care if they're correct), but it would be great if even the general way in which a hospital works was portrayed accurately. For example, a neurosurgical registrar who is closely personally involved with the patient is apparently the only one available to operate on him - & then had a beer afterwards, though refusing wine in case he has to go back in. Where exactly was the consultant on call? And a surgeon who might have to go back to work would not drink any alcohol...
And that's without the tedious romance, which was drawn out with unnecessary and unconvincing obstacles, and took place between a slightly whiny & pathetic scrub nurse and a wet, indecisive surgical registrar.

If you like reading Mills & Boon Medical Romances you will no doubt enjoy this.

It wasn't a bad read but felt a bit too old fashioned for my tastes.

I really enjoyed this book as soon as I picked it up. What I liked about it was there were only a few characters needed for the story so it was easy to keep track, and the story line was a simple but could happen to anyone in real life. Of course it has to end happily which rounded it off nicely. I'd recommend this book to anyone who enjoys an easy read romance........loved it
