Super compact DSLR style design.
The S1000fd design allows you to do many things that you can't with most conventional digital SLRs. For instance, using the 2.7 inch LCD to compose your image, rather than having to lift the camera to cover your eye or the added functionality of a movie mode.
In addition, photo enthusiasts and advanced photographers have total control with manual adjustment options for various camera settings including resolution, ISO, aperture, shutter speed and more.
Fujinon 12x Optical zoom lens.
Fujinon optics have an enviable reputation within the photography industry for their clarity and quality, and the lens on the S1000fd lives up to the name.
Using the excellent zoom range to reach virtually any of the major focal lengths (Ranging from 33 - 396mm*), rather than having to change lenses means you can avoid dust entering the camera, not to mention missing the perfect shot.
The Super Macro mode within the FinePix S1000fd allows you to capture an image as close as approx. 2cm (0.8 inch) making it easy to take high-impact full-frame close-ups.

2.7 inch LCD Screen with Micro Thumbnail view.
The FinePix S1000fd sports a large 2.7 inch LCD screen possessing an extremely detailed display of 230,000 pixels, it enables you to check focus and get an immediate idea of image sharpness.
This model can also display up to 100 images at a time in the micro-thumbnail view allowing you to instantly select specific images to either view or print.
10 megapixel sensor with Real Photo Technology.
Boasting a 10 megapixel CCD sensor, with a maximum sensitivity of ISO3200* the FinePix S1000fd delivers high image quality that promises sharper, more brilliant, high-resolution pictures whatever the scene. You'll see the benefits in every image you capture.
Real Photo Technology is the combination of cutting edge technologies such as Face Detection, Real Photo Processor and Fujinon lens, all optimised to work together to produce the most natural, beautiful results in any conditions. Never a blurred moment.
Picture Stabilisation uses the increased sensitivity of the FinePix S1000fd and high-speed shutter settings to reduce blur caused by hand-shake or subject movement. It allows the camera to automatically choose the correct light sensitivity and optimal shutter speed to produce clear, blur-free images, even when shooting at maximum zoom range.
In addition, the FinePix S1000fd movie mode offers the top-level 30 fps VGA benchmark, providing a valuable backup to the camera's still image capability.
Fujifilm's Face Detection Technology.
Operating throughout the entire range of the 12x zoom lens, Face Detection instantly identifies faces in the scene and automatically adjusts focus and exposure to ensure beautiful people pictures. The movement tracking keeps the camera 'locked on' to its subjects until they move out of the picture. The technology works irrespective of the subject's position in the frame, and is not confused by glasses.
Say goodbye to Red-eye for good.
Red-eye is the single biggest reason why the best portraits are ruined. The FinePix S1000fd uses Face Detection technology to find and instantly correct any red-eye from every face in the frame as the shot is taken.
The system on the FinePix S1000fd will only correct redness in the pupil of the eye, not elsewhere in the picture, because the camera uses eye detection within face detection to find the pupil. While other cameras can sometimes convert lips or red jewellery to brown or blue, the FinePix S1000fd never gets it wrong.
Versatile Shooting Modes.
The FinePix S1000fd features 14 pre-programmed scene modes that offer a one-touch setting for almost any situation, including: Portrait, Landscape, Sport, Night, Fireworks, Sunset, Snow, Beach, Museum, Party, and Flower.
Simply choose a Scene Position that suits the situation and you have the ideal settings for everything from shutter speed, exposure and white balance ready to capture the image. The display of helpful descriptions of each mode and Scene Position within the LCD make it simple to explore the versatility of the S1000fd when faced with any photo opportunity.
NEW Panorama Shooting Mode.
For capturing sweeping scenery or large groups of people, the new Panorama Shooting Mode makes it easy to create impressive panoramic photos. Panorama Shooting Mode captures and combines a maximum of three consecutive shots at 3 Megapixel resolution, which are saved to the memory card as a single panoramic picture.
