Really wasnt sure what i was expecting as the blurb didnt really give much away, but was pleasantly surprised. Emmerline is happily in love eith her fiancée Austin, untill one night, something happens and changes everything.
I loved the 'twist' (dont want to give to much away) about where Emmerline really was. I was hooked! Beautiful story about pain, betrayal, trust and love. A HEA Worth reading

HASH(0x9a852f44) out of 5 stars Where were the feelings? 16 Nov. 2015
By Annika - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Going into this book, I didn't have the slightest clue as to what to expect from it. When I requested it on NetGalley a few weeks back, it wasn't labeled as Romance yet, so I didn't even know the genre, and the vague blurb didn't really help, either.
Then, I started reading and I was thrown into one of the most intense openings ever. After 20%, I was confused, crushed and completely hooked. I couldn't imagine what could possibly go wrong after a start like that.
Well... a lot, apparently.

Spoiler alert: I won't be spoiling anything major, but if you plan on reading this and really want to enjoy the full impact of the first 20%, you should go into it as blindly as possible.

So after a start that hinted on something dark and twisted, and completely unexpected, it quickly morphed into your typical New Adult romance. I'm usually a fan of the NA genre when executed well, meaning relatable characters, a gripping plot line, a believable love story, lots of emotions and good pacing.
Good news: There wasn't any character I disliked, not even the ones that I assume were intended to be disliked (is that actually a good thing?). Bad news: I didn't really care about any of them, either. Wait, that's not true. I really felt for Austin, the supposed 'bad guy', of all people, and I kept rooting for him. I loved the few chapters written in his POV and would have loved to read more of them.
I liked the premise of this book, I really did. A story about crushed dreams, heartache and healing. The problem was, I just didn't feel it. While technically the writing was really nice, the author failed to convey the characters' emotions to me. We were told about Emmy's progress in overcoming her traumatic experience. We were told about her feelings towards Austin and Zep and her old and new life. We were told so much, but I didn't feel anything. There were time leaps of several weeks or months after which we were told how Emmy managed to open up to Zep. How she started living and trusting other people again.
Then, there was the romance part... I didn't get it at all. One moment, Zep and Emmy hate each other, the next they're in love. One moment they fight and insult each other, the next Zep kisses her and asks her out on a date. Their actions were so random and I just couldn't keep up. I didn't feel any chemistry between them, as opposed to the deep and sweet love between Austin and Emmy before s*** went down.

I didn't hate this book, I've read a lot worse, but the main story didn't touch me at all. Overall, I would have given it 2 stars, but the fantastic beginning managed to save it from that rating, so I ended up giving it 3 instead.

HASH(0x9a854414) out of 5 stars Need more Gannon please!! 27 Feb. 2015
By Angie J - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Uhm, WOW!! This book totally was awesome! Cori gave me a sneak peak of it before release day and I devoured the chapters. It was maybe 20% but WHUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was messaging her and saying "OMG its her?" or "OMG he is messing around?" or even "WHAT THE HECK JUST HAPPENED!!!"

Our girl Emmy was in Love. She met her Austin and instant love. Her and Austin dated while she was in High School and decided to marry after. They were the couple who struggled but as long as they had love they thought they could handle it all. Well Austin and Emmy decided to go on their honeymoon before the wedding since their crazy schedules limited time off. Austin is getting crazy messages but we dont know from who or why. Then all of a sudden we are thrown into this crazy world where Emmy is kidnapped. The person holding her is continually telling her what a bad person she is and then BOOM Emmy is "found"......

We find out that Emmy has been "gone" for a year and when she comes back to the world everything has changed. Gone is her life as she hasknown it. She cant take it and runs. She runs as far away from Florida as she can. She runs to Michigan to be with her crazy, wild and carefree cousin. That is when her real life begins. She meets Zep aka Gannon and instantly dislikes this guy or does she???? Zep is arrogant and cocky buuuut dont we love that ladies?? When he kisses Emmy we cheer but then GASP think he has a irlfriend and Emmy will not betray Hillary....or does he have a Girlfriend?? HRMMMM?????

Well Zep doesnt really show up MUCH anymore...now we are getting to see more of the Gannon side. When Emmy and him begin to date, its just a perfect fit. The two fall crazy in love with each other...annnd then Emmy freaks out.....and runs back to Austin???

I loved the book...the angst was a killer. The scenes were hawt and then beginning was MIND BLOWING!!! i really hope that there is more to the series becasue I wannaknow about Hil and Cody plus i kinda wannaknow about Ashley and Austin.......

HASH(0x9b9e7e58) out of 5 stars Emmy is in love with and engaged to Austin 5 Mar. 2016
By Lisa K. - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Emmy is in love with and engaged to Austin, who turns out to be less than she'd hoped. Betrayal and tragedy derail her life, so she moves from Florida to Michigan to start fresh. There she meets Gannon, who is a jerk to her, but love blossoms. Austin continues to pursue her and Emmy is torn. This book is confusing and feels disorganized. Things were happening in a choppy manner--to be mysterious, I think, but it was just distracting. The characters aren't particularly likable and there often isn't justification for them liking each other. In some cases more character depth would've helped, others needed better qualities.

Fantastic story!!!

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started this book because it has one of those blurbs that give you just enough to pique your interest, but not really enough to fully understand what it’s about. I never would’ve guessed! I swear there were times in the first half of this book where I thought my eyes were going to bug right out of my head…the whole book was awesome and definitely kept me on my toes!!

This is my first Cori Williams book and it definitely won’t be my last!!

HASH(0x9a8589a8) out of 5 stars Great story, you will not be disappointed. 6 Jan. 2016
By Amy - Published on Amazon.com

The reason I gave this book four stars instead of five is because there were quite a few grammatical error. However, that is the only thing bad I have to say. The characters and their feelings were real. Emmy really struggles with her emotions, but that was understandable based on everything that she went through. Gannon was great and mature and supportive.
