This is a wonderfully high quality French Green Clay powder.
It has a deep green colour and minimal hard bits in it which is great because I've had to drink it and another paler green gritty brand gave me a mild stomach ache.
You have to open the packet to find out though.

It's terrific for drawing out infections from gums. Any swelling or inflammation due to abscess etc take a small amount of french green clay and slightly moisten it with water til 'held together' then place on the painful gum and hold there for 20 minutes, then spit out...This can be repeated several times on the trot. If I had known about this simple effective remedy for gums I would probably have more teeth....

I have had bad acne since I was 12 years old. I was on a strong dosage of Accutane for 14 weeks back in 1997, and that was the only time I have ever received compliments on my skin. Post-accutane the acne returned, but not to the same level of severity as pre-Accutane. The problem is I am now in my 30's and I still feel like a 16 year old every time I look in the mirror. I primarily get clusters of acne around my jaw line and t-zone areas, which is so annoying because the clusters never seem to completely disappear. I always have reddish/purplish underlying "scars" from the acne too. I had gone back to a dermatologist, but they wanted to put me on all kinds of medications (including Accutane again) that I am not willing to take due to systemic side affects. Up until now, the only thing that has kept my acne somewhat under control are Alpha and Beta Hydroxy Acids (AHAs). I currently use a 2% salicylic cleanser, mild witch hazel astringent, a 20% glycolic acid lotion in the daytime under my makeup, and a 2% salicylic gel overnight.

I had seen something on the History Channel about ancient Egyptian women using clay for their skin care, and I recalled seeing clay masks at the store. After researching the different brands and clay types online, I decided to order a green clay powder. Powdered clay has the longest shelf life and green clay is supposed to be the most "drawing" clay for impurities in the skin. It is also the most drying of all the clays, and I have extremely oily skin...my skin is oily within 5 minutes of washing it. So I ordered this Frontier French Green clay and received it several days ago. Two nights ago I had just finished washing me face and putting on my 2% salicylic gel prior to going to sleep. I noticed that I was starting to develop a couple of cystic pimples on my forehead and my jawline/neck was just a mess. I figured, what the heck, I will try that clay on top of the salicylic gel. I used a little plastic cup and measuring spoon and mixed 1/2 tsp of powder with 1 tsp of tap water. I mixed it well and rubbed it only onto the problem areas. It was pretty runny, and has a funky green color, but I let it dry and then went to sleep leaving it on my skin overnight. Let me tell you, I have never seen anything like it!!!!! I wish I had taken a "before" picture so that I could post on here what my skin looked like two days ago, and what it looks like now. This stuff works a million times better than any type of benzoyl peroxide cream, and my skin is already starting to heal. The cystic acne that was on my forehead disappeared overnight. My pores (which are typically very large and visible) also seem to have disappeared. Normally, I use about a half of a pack of blotting papers throughout the day due to how oily my skin is, but I haven't even had to do that yesterday or today! The oil production seems to have dramatically slowed.

The best part is, this package of powder was inexpensive and will probably last me a year or longer if I just use it as an overnight remedy. I had leftovers from what I had already mixed with water the first night, so I put the lid on my little plastic mixing cup, added a few drops of water the next night, and I was able to re-use the mixture. I might try to use it as an all-over face mask once a week too. If you have extremely dry skin, you probably would not want to use green clay; you might want to try red clay instead (which is much less drying). Also, you must be prepared to look like the bride of Frankenstein after putting this on your face and some of it can rub off on your pillowcase if you use it as an overnight treatment. I am SO thrilled with the results. I wish I had known about this stuff when I was a teenager. I will continue to use my AHAs as well because they seem to help with exfoliating my skin. Great product!!!!!

HASH(0x9a7d399c) out of 5 stars Exceptional product 6 May 2011

I have suffered from acne since I was 13 years old. I'm 42 today and thought nothing could help until I tried this product. I had to use this product for 30 days prior to posting this review to really see if it works or not on my complexion. This is one truly wonderful product. I am standing by my claim.

Every night I would apply it to my entire face right before bedtime. I have huge pores on my nose and forehead. Not only did they shrink in size, oil production dramatically slowed down. I was using Kleenex once every 30 minutes to blot off the oil slick. If you have blackheads leave it on overnight and don't touch it. In the morning they diminished two thirds of it's original size! You don't have to wait three long weeks for it to go away. This is an organic, economical and effective awesome product.

This is a good wound cover, toothpaste, facial and it kills MRSA. I also polish glass with it and it cleans the carbon deposits off my fireplace doors without scratching it.
The French have used it for ages.
