Jean and SashaFreetime Robot Vacuum Cleaner
Brushes right into corners.
Does not scare the cat. Easy to empty.
Do remember this is not a mighty Hoover..collection box is the size
of a budgies water bowl. Buy an upright or cylinder if you want a strong cleaner with loads of suck. This
is more of a floor sweeper.
My bed is low and I have had to move it for cleaning underneath...not anymore...my little robot is happy to visit under
the bed and lightly clean. Great in the bathroom too...whizzes into the space beside the loo where my Hoover can never
squeeze down unless I got the hose tool out.
Delighted with this little wizard.
Unfortunately the Freetime robot doesn't seem to work very well in my scenario - the brushes tend to fling the bits around rather than directing them to the vacuum. Instead of cleaning the floor up, it seemed to push bits underneath appliances, making it even more awkward to cleanup.
On the plus side, using it's pattern it did seem to cover the whole floor area including around the edges, just a shame that it didn't actually clean anything!
This robo vac, should in theory be a real help. However, it has a very annoying habit of hugging the edges of the room, my skirting boards have never been cleaner, but the rest of the room is a real mess. I have to follow behind with a regular vacuum cleaner.
There's a major design flaw with Freetime whiskers, and it's that it will only ever turn in to an obstacle. When not in edge mode, It should do the opposite and turn away. Consequently, whenever it hits an object, it shuffles in to the object, and repeats ad infinitum hugging whatever it has made contact with. So if it encounters a table leg, it will circle it endlessly, whilst ignoring they rest of the room. Seeing as I have a dining table, whiskers lingers there like a dog with a full bladder does to a lamp post.
It has three stages, 1- edges, ( it does this with gusto), 2- a circular pattern, ( again, it's very keen on this, but this manoeuvre is only useful in a completely empty room, otherwise it does the table leg tango mentioned above), 3- an across room move, ( it hates doing this, and will only venture across room in a straight line to find another skirting board,. Did I mention that whiskers loves skirting boards more than life itself?
If you were able to bypass the three stage mode and just have it on straight line mode, it may do a better job, but that's not possible, so you have to stand like a schmuck and watch it ignore all the dirt.
So much for the robot revolution,
I sent it back to the seller, who offered to test it, check that it wasn't faulty. It wasn't. I guess it's just no good.
Refunded and disappointed.
Recently my chargers wires came apart near the plugin, this charger was 19v not 14v as stated,, I have been unable to find a charger that fits, and yes there is a phone number, a new number has been stuck on, it says the telephone numbers printed in this Owners manual are incorrect, please call...0844 249 8601. I do not intend to phone this number at 28p a minute, or more,, their old number was 0845 604 2377. I prefer to buy from another company next time, one with a land line number or preferably a FREEPHONE number. I miss my little robot. (:
