Freecom DVB-T Scart Digital Freeview Receiver

Compact, easy to fit and the picture quality is very good when using an external aerial.

Basic setup easy but I do have a number of issues with the unit:

1. The auto tune does not find stations that are closed down at the time you scan.
2. Although there are 3 channel sort options it is not possible to sort the channels in program order, as on my other boxes. Even using the manual sort facility this cannot be achieved as the unit will not accept gaps in the numbering.

The fact that the unit does not support Teletext is not highlighted in the sales information.

Invisible Freeview!

This is a really unusual, cool product. I have a new TV in the living room and I have been toying with the idea of wall mounting it. Unfortunately I was not willing to shell out an extra £85 for the same TV with a freeview tuner, as I thought you can buy a decent set top box for under £50.

Anyway, my wall bracket arrived a couple of weeks ago and I now have my new TV mounted on the wall. The only thing I thought was that if I now buy a freeview box, im going to have wires running down the wall! I actually wondered if there was a product on the market that would solve my problem and thanks to Freecom, I have found it. I know there is another similar product on the market, but it was the hinge design that sold me...

I now have freeview tv on my new LCD, and this product is cool in the way that you can actually hinge the product vertically so it fits neatly behind wall mounted TVS. I now have no unsightly box dangling off my TV, and I can currently recieve over 40 channels and radio.

I thoroughly recommend this product, I must admit I didn't purchase from Amazon, however looking at this price, I now wish I had....

product is fantastic, this could replace any dated set top box and fits really neatly behind a wall mounted LCD

Even has a couple of games on it!

Freeview versus Freecom

Quite satisfied with this product but am disappointed to find that
one can never update when programmes change channels. Instruction book
doesn't mention upgrading anywhere - not like a Freeview top box.

Good picture - no features

Bought one yesterday - v.easy install, perfect picture. However teletext is not supported (says it is on freecom website and above on this page) and red button not supported at all. Tidy solution for plasma but lacks key features.

Maybe not perfect, but best yet!

I recently purchased this device and I am pleased with it, but as with everything new to the market it has some small bugs, the main issue I had is the aerial supplied with it, it really isn't much use at all (So signal), I have since plugged mine into the main aerial in my loft, and the quality is much better, another small point to note is that it can not pick up as many channels as a normal box, I struggle with any sky free channel, such as sky news, sky sports news, however they work fine on my other normal freeview box, it is a fantastic device and brill for flat screens, just don't expect it to be perfect.
