most people who like this band have to buyeverything that is released in their name because the music is of such a high quality.even this,a recording of a rehearsal which they probably never expected to be released, shows why the band has such devoted fans.despite it being a rehearsal the songs are still delivered with passion and drama though the intimacy and lack of expectant observers are still apparent.sound quality isexcellent and the overall feel is one of warmth. vocalist(mark burgess)delivers the slower songs(home is where the heart is for example) in an endearingly world weary fashion, even more so than on the similarly sublime studio recorded versions.the syntheziser accompaniment is another highlight.despite being great live, the band are without doubt best heard on their studio recordings,(where the endless subtleties of their music is displayed for all its wonders.)this is aworthwhile addition to their catalogue and adds another dimension to appreciating their music.if you're reading this you probably already have it and are just wondering how other fans view it,if you are someone who has heard about the band and has none of their records i suggest you begin with their best of(return of the roughnecks)then 'script of the bridge'/'what does anything mean?basically'/strange times(first 3studio albums)also get 'the sun and the moon' bythe sun and the moon(chameleons offshoot with similar sound)if you like all those you'll thencome for this and everything else you can find.(session/live albums, demos, early 'rejects' etc.)then there's the solo projects, offshoots, the videos.........
