i first bought the single dvd "Marketa Lazarová", which i liked so much that i had to watch frantiseks other movies. frankly, i can recommend them all, especially
adelheid. these films are poetic, subtle and obsevant, the imagery is stunning, words are not important. vlacil makes films for film's sake. that's all there is to say.
enjoy

These films have some of the worst subtitles that I have ever come across! They are huge and jagged affairs that cover approximately 25% of the image, and, despite their size, are rather difficult to read, which ruin the films entirely! Very poor attention to detail from a company that claims otherwise! Very shoddy indeed! These films deserve much better treatment.
