I was a biology graduate working for a printing company when I decided to do a history of art degree in my spare time - evening classes at Birkbeck College, University of London (highly recommended!). Once I had done that I couldn't really stop so decided to do a PhD. I chose Bridget Riley's work on an impulse (I am very impulsive) and then spent about 8 years doing the research and writing in my spare time. Several job changes after starting the original BA, I now run my own company providing editorial and pre-press services, and produce an online magazine, Cassone: The International Online Magazine of Art and Art Books, http://www.cassone-art.com. I have published catalogue articles on Bridget Riley's work, and given papers at conferences in England and France. I live in Chislehurst, just outside central London. I am trying to find the time to research and write another book!
