Product Description

Review

'This is a remarkable book, surely destined to become an authoritative voice within the evolution of IPE as a discipline.' - Craig Berry, Millenium

'A sophisticated but clearly expressed and accessible text. Matthew Watson does an excellent job in drawing out the relevance of classical political economy for students of international political economy today and makes a strong case for the particular importance of Smith, Veblen and Polanyi.' - Herman Schwartz, University of Virginia, USA

a really excellent piece of research from one of the best political economists out there. if you can't get hold of the book then at least go onto his academic page and read some of his published articles. they're all very relevant and rewarding.

A truly admirable piece of research. Matthew Watson's depth and understanding is both apparent and very readable. I would strongly recommend this as essential reading for any student studying the political economy.
