I'm a big fan of racing games and would certainly rate this as my favourite so far. The accessibility it permits due to being able to fine tune the difficulty to suit your abilities makes it approachable for anybody whether they prefer a more arcade or simulation style approach.
Throughout the single player career you are regularly pitted against the same 'drivatars' giving you the illusion of rivalries with both your friends and people randomly picked even though it is only a representation of them. I was a little sceptical of this feature when I first heard of it but you will quickly pick up on certain peoples driving mannerisms being accurately represented by the new AI and can adapt your own ways of dealing with them accordingly. It certainly adds a little more depth and personality to what are generally fairly dull processions.
Also new is the ability to qualify for a gold medal for finishing in the top 3 which, instead of making things too easy as I first thought, makes races much more exciting as you can now increase the difficulty of the AI to ensure that you are racing right to the finish instead of just taking first place on lap 1 and going through the motions. I find myself trying much harder on tracks I find more difficult and it is much more interesting now that a single mistake can cost me a race.
The cars are fantastically recreated and each have their own distinctive feel. Being able to fine tune my favourite cars to get the most out of them is ever rewarding as well as the feature to let the game automatically apply modifications to suit a certain level if you just want to jump into a race.
-Summary-
Overall this is a huge improvement on the last Forza game and introduces a way of playing with friends and people around the world when they can't actually be online. The single player is extensive and due to the reworked medal system and drivatars it is much less of a grind than racing games usually end up being. The multiplayer is also extremely varied and introduces a large number of fun game modes and challenges as well as the standard class based competitions. Everything that could be wanted from a racer in a single game.

Forza Motorsport 5 is a graphical masterpiece, if you want a game to show off what the Xbox One can do, this is definitely it !! I also purchased Forza Horizon 2 which in my opinion is the better of the two. Forza 5 is more of a simulation Racer, where as Forza Horizon 2 is an open world Racer. So I suppose you can't really make a comparison. The time I have spent playing Forza 5 I have really enjoyed it. It's a really good game, but I do find myself crashing a lot as I'm admiring how beautiful the graphics are :/ lol. All in all I'm happy with my purchase, and will be spending a lot more time enjoying it. Thanks Amazon for the great service you have provided.

Outstanding! Best looking game on the Xbox One I reckon. I play with all assists turned off, except for ABS and the driving is challenging! Racing against Drivatars is a lot of fun. You need to be at your best to beat some of them. Not encountered any of the dreaded "micro transactions" yet! Still think it will be possible to play most of the game without shelling out more cash? The rear wheel drive cars (as they were on Forza Horizon 2) are difficult to control. Far harder than Forza 4 with similar settings. The game requires lots of driving to hone your skills and Spa is still as beautiful as ever!

First of all I want to say that I'm not a huge car fan but bought this game to race friends online which is what I like about the game as well as adding custom paint jobs from the online community. The actual gameplay and driving are fine but it's other things that are still disappointing about this game.
For a next gen game, the load times are terrible compared to other games. It has worst loading times than games such as Battlefield which has to load a map far bigger in scale than forza so I don't understand why it takes so long.
The second disappointment is the lack of a weather system again.. how can a game call itself a realistic simulator when one of the main factors that affect racing is different weather types, I know a lot of people have wanted it since forza 2.
(This one is what my friends said)The third disappointment is even though they added some new tracks, they have removed some from previous games, which were favorites in the community still giving you a limited amount to choose from.
Overall it is a good racing game but can get boring quite quick due to the same weather and tracks being played over and over again. The only way to make it different is by getting different cars but you have to earn the money first.

Great gameplay, even if the AI are overly aggressive, there are difficulty levels that will challenge better payers, and I love the coud features, but it's very light on tracks and cars compared to Forza 4. The extra (free) DLC tracks do make a big difference - the new, full, Nurburgring track is amazing visually updated and you feel every bump of the 25km course. It's Forza, it looks good - the sound in places is dubious (crashes sound rubbish) - but it's still the same Forza simulation handling that rewards smoothness and precision, and FM5 has the extra feel and feedback to help the driver do that.

This Game is great, the problem is the Xbox one, the console is fine except you cannot play it unless you are online, so if you just feel like playing a game quickly, you have to sign in etc and if you cannot sign in you cannot play the game, I think I will send the Xbox back, but if you can live with such a restrictive draconian system, then get the game but make sure you are always on line.

Bought as a time filler to pick up and play ad hoc, nice graphics but counter intuitive as the fast cars are easier to handle than the plodders ?????? I think a steering wheel would improve the experience unfortunately MS chose to change the firmware drivers for the controllers so my Fanatec 911 turbo does not work on XBox one and the new Fanatec wheels are approx £1400.00 for Xbox one. I 'spose an adapter is out of the question.
