Giorgio Piola's perceptive analysis has been appearing annually for over a decade. While some observers consider that F1 cars are now almost entirely alike - and the FIA regulations seem to stifle radical innovation - Piola's book demonstrated that technical ingenuity of the highest order continues unabated and, as least as far as the 2009-10 season was concerned, the clever interpretation of the regulations relating to the rear diffuser led to a dramatic early season technical advantage for those clever enough to exploit it. As always the technical illustrations in Formula 1 Technical Analysis are of an exceptional standard and clarify the issues superbly. This sets this book apart form all the other annual reviews of the races, drivers and the accompanying circus. Editions from earlier years are now out of print and much sought after.
Highly recommeded.

I discovered these books a couple of years ago, and purchased a copy. Since then, I have obtained them all, with the exception of the 1999 and 2002 editions. These are now like hens teeth and priced accordingly.

The book is extremely well written and illustrated, and serves to show the changes that are made on the cars during the year. This sort of information does not come across at all on Television, and while AUTOSPORT does have the technical information in their magazines, I have long stopped purchasing AUTOSPORT.

By having the books going back to 1998, one can see how much F1 has changed in the past 12 years.

Highly recommended for any serious F1 follower.

Anybody who follows F1 with enthusiasm, and has any engineering interest will love this book. I am fascinated by how the world of Motorsport has developed and have/will buy every book as it is released each year. Very in-depth and amazingly detailed drawings & renderings provide as much insight into each car as the teams are willing to give away, along with why and how it is used to gain an advantage.

Great book fairly detailed, excellent drawings and annotations recommended for anyone. A bit on the slim side though in my oppion as component information could be expanded on a lot more. Still a great book.

I purchased this book for a man who is really interested in the technical side of F1.
I thought this book pedestrian at best and well overpriced for it is!
