This is the first book of C.A. Harms, and I thoroughly enjoyed it..
A heartbreaker story of loss and second chances..
Kori deals with betrayal, grieving and trying to bring her son up alone.. Moving home she faces the man that broke her heart and led to her leaving her hometown, years ago..
There hasn't been a single moment since Kori left, that Reed hasnt regretted breaking Kori's heart..
Now she's back, but she's also grieving for the father of her little boy..
She was also his best friend, and he hates seeing her so unhappy.. He makes it his top priority, to help her out of her grief.. To have his best friend and the love of his life, back with him.. Along the way, he also loses his heart to her beautiful little boy..
I can't wait to read the next book in the series!!

C.A. Harms had me an emotional wreck after just reading the prologue. Ugly crying and it didn't stop there as this was such an emotional, heart wrenching read that it completely broke me. I know I'm going to have a major book hangover now as I try and put myself back together after this journey. It was an incredibly sweet read that I didn't want to end as it got completely under my skin. Just a wow read.

Wow. This story was an emotional read.
From the very beginning I was in tears and so enthralled I couldn't put it down.
The story of kori and how she suffered heartbreak from her first love reed only to go off to college and shut herself away.
She's convinced that there will be no one who can have her heart again, that is until she meets Blake.
On a tragic night she looses Blake and gives birth in one night. Completely broken she goes back home to her parents.
Only reed is still there but she can't get past Blake.
Reed messed up with the love of his life and she moved away. Although she's back she's broken and wants nothing to do with him.
He offers friendship but even that seems to hard for kori to accept.
I loved how you can relate to the characters and really feel the emotions.
100% recommended..

"I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads."

Definitely a book which needs a tissue to hand! This slow paced, emotional read takes us through the wringer a few times, although the book blurb forewarns the reader that this will be the case. Kori suffers a great loss, but is fortunate enough to have an amazing family who support her and allow her space to recover. Moving home makes her face her past, and reconcile her guilt with a more positive future. Good story with strong, calm and gorgeous male lead - who can fail to enjoy that?!

This is the first in a series - the next book is about another couple, Maria and Gavin. I am hopeful that we will get more about Reed and his family too!

I fell completely in love with this book. This is the first book I've read of this author's and I can honestly say I don't regret it. The author sure k knows how to tug on your heartstrings and play your emotions, there was s*** loads of crying at the beginning for me, and emotions all over the place. I advise a box of tissues within reach for this book

I received this book from HEA Book Tours in return for a fair and honest review.

This is a story about forgiveness, second chances, learning to live and learning to love again. It starts off in an emotional and gripping way and doesn't change throughout.

Upset at the prospect of his girlfriend moving across the country to a college, a young Reed doesn't think with the head on his shoulders and makes a mistake, a BIG mistake. This means that Kori moves away from him for good. Devastated by Reed's betrayal, she hides away until she is dragged out by her friend. There she meets Blake and they get to know each other and fall in love. But Kori is not destined for a HEA with Blake (as you might expect from the title). HOW her and Blake 'break up' had me in tears and so did her recovery process.

Wounded and grieving, she heads back home to her family and friends. It is a long slow journey for Kori as she learns to rebuild her life. If, like me, you're a complete sap, you'll be in tears at least 3 or 4 times during this part of the story alone!

It is nice to see a heroine know herself and come from a loving and supportive family. Yes, she had issues but she admitted to them and laid it out - no game playing or pussy-footing around. Reed you believe has learnt from his mistake and will never do it again. If I had a complaint about any character, it would be Kim - Reed's mistake. She came across as very cliche, the typical other woman. When she appeared at the hospital and it said she looked worried, I was hopeful that there was more to her but no, she went back to 'normal'.

All in all, a well-written, well-paced story that will tug at your heartstrings. If you like hot cowboys then I guess you won't be disappointed with this book.
