Havenwood Falls is a secret town that doesn't show up on any maps or on GPS, and is a haven for all sorts of supernatural beings. Conversely for a town that likes to stay secret, it's main line of business is tourism.
I suppose this is just a way of getting new characters on the scene to carry on New storylines, otherwise it might start getting incestuous.
Forget You Not is vampire-themed and contained some interesting new elements to this that I haven't seen used by other authors. The hero is a hot hunk and the heroine is your regular hard-done-by orphan with a memory issue.
The town contains all sorts of shifters, witches, ghosts and vampires so there is plenty of scope for variety here.
Kaela Peters is a vampire, when she was turned she was left alone and woke with a blood lust that saw her nearly killing her fiancé and best friend. Steps were taken to heal them both, and for their memories to be wiped of any knowledge of what happened and of Kaela at all. It broke her heart to have the people closest to her forget her, but she planned to get herself under control and try to win back her fiancé. When she discovered that her best friend and fiancé are now a couple, she tried to deal with it, but over time it got more difficult. When he proposed to the 'other woman' exactly as he had to her, Kaela loses is and ends up nearly killing them both. It's only then that she realises she needs to get far away from them.
At the most opportune time she gets a job offer from an Inn at Havenwood Falls, in Colorado. She decides to take the job and from the minute she gets there her life as she knows it will never be the same again. She's not who she thought she was, she's not WHAT she thought she was, and her new, yet old life is a huge deal that she has to come to terms with.
Although this was a short story, it was full to brimming with amazing characters, love, passion, danger, lies and intrigue. As an introduction to Havenwood Falls it is perfect, the place is fabulous and one I look forward to reading more about with the other stories set there. This is the first of what I am sure is going to be a wonderful series, and who better to lead the way than Kristie Cook.
I voluntarily read an advanced readers' copy of this book
And the author doesn't just leave this as a set up for the wider series - oh no, here we have a fully fledged, intricate and tense plot line which roars into life from the very first chapter.
If you want to read more in this series from the collaborative authors, then I very strongly recommend that you read this book first. It will serve as a solid base for all that is to come.
A great little opener.

It's the first in a collaborative series all set in the same special, magical town. It's full of supernatural beings, all with their own stories to tell!
This story is amazing, and gets you hooked to the town and the coming series from the off.
It's a definite must read for all those who love the supernatural, fictional and true love tales!!
