Loved the Summer Series! It's the first time I've read anything by C.J. Duggan & I'm not sure I've read many books set in Australia either. I'm in the UK, so this made a change. I've just spent the week reading all 7 of them in the order they are meant to go in as they were all available 😊. I'm going to miss those 'Onslow Boys' & the growing romances among them all as they happened... I'd love to read a further book set in future years that showed how they have grown in their relationships etc. They all finish just as it starts more or less! I've downloaded 'The Paradise Series' onto my kindle app now too.

Oh how I wish I could give this 5 stars! I have been awaiting this book since finishing That One Summer. I read this book in two sittings (had to sleep at some point) and upon the ending all I could think was "that's it?" The book was incredibly short and although the author has stated she has been through tough times since this book was conceived it seemed to be a rush to the conclusion; perhaps to get back to her new series of books? It felt more like one of the novellas in the series rather than the fully fledged novels which was extremely disappointing: especially at the price (£2.68). What it most sorely lacked was at least one more chapter. As it's the final part of a series encompassing a large group of friends I had been hoping there would be an epilogue, (spoiler ahead if you haven't read the other books) perhaps taking place during Tess and Toby's wedding so we could get one final look at all the couples together one final time.
The story had Ellie reminiscing through her old diaries which was a nice touch and I loved how Tammy seemed so at home now in the group. However Tess and Adam were so quick to believe the worst of Ellie at one point it felt jarring- we've been told countless times throughout the series how close they are that it didn't sit right with the characters. This may be Ellie and Adam's story but it really just seemed to be hers. Adam went missing a lot with large chunks of their interactions being by phone. Other characters popped up seemingly only to link to past books and serving no other real purpose.
This was one book that I couldn't help but be disappointed by the abrupt ending, it was so close to being great! It's barely 200 pages and certainly suffers for this.
Before reading I was hoping, yearning to give this 5 stars but it falls short for me as the concluding part of a series I love.

I could not put this book down. I was slightly disappointed with how the series has ended as it feels like there are a few loose ends still and could have done with one more chapter. I have loved the whole series and would recommend to others.
