Forever red by Carina Adams is the first book I have read by this author, I was gifted a copy of the book to read for Gemma Reads Too Much.

I read a lot but I’m also a busy full time mom of three little monkeys so I have to read around their hours so usually once they have gone to bed at night. It’s not uncommon for me to still be awake at 1 or 2am saying just one more chapter. Only the books that I really can’t stop reading have me awake past that point.

So what time did I finish Forever Red you ask????

4.17am!!!!

Lol yes I was up the entire night because I just couldn’t put it down!!

This book completely sucked me in, I loved both kid Lia and Neil and adult CeCe and Nate. Honestly how could you not? As kids they were young and in love, so idealistic and youthfully naive. Then as adults they were smoking bloody hot balls of chemistry.

Lia/CeCe has a wicked sense of humour, I instantly liked her and even when she was being an idiot and leaving Neil I could totally understand why.

Now Neil/Nate was a cute kid but he was a hell of a man!!! The tatted up rock star was kind of swoon worthy. I loved how his relationship with Lia was intense but it also just really picked up where they left off as kids.

I loved all of the guys in the band and of course Mike. Poor Mike always the friend never the guy; I really hope he gets a happily ever after too!!

I’m slightly obsessed with Noah he’s absolutely adorable, I need more Noah in my life!!!

Neil’s mom was a real piece of work I honestly couldn’t figure out what her problem was!! I found Craig a bit creepy the whole teacher student thing is just not ok with me.

This is one of those books that is far from perfect plot wise but strangely addictive. First read for me by this author. I liked the writing style.

The story is in two parts. The first part is when Neil/Nate and Cecelia/Lia meet as 16 year olds. Lia is a completely different book heroine to what I'm used to reading. She is not a shy little virgin. Far from it, her and her two friends have a game they play which is not a nice one. However, when Nate meets her, he is smitten. They start off as friends but it soon turns to more. His mother is not over keen on him having Lia as a girlfriend. Although they are only 16, nearly 17, they fall in love but Lia is worried that Nate is going to give up too much for her so when something from Lia's past dalliances comes to light, Lia makes a decision to end their relationship and then she leaves with no goodbye.

The second part of the story is set 14 years later as Lia is approaching her 30th birthday and her best friends have got her tickets to see Nate Kelly, a Country Music star that Lia is obsessed with. Little do her friends know that Nate is the Neil from her past that she has told them about. Now when I got to the second part, I felt like there was quite a lot of 'telling' rather than 'showing' going on. There were two conversations I really wanted to read about but instead we were only told about them. I found it a bit strange which particular 'friend' was still in Lia's life and how close they had become. After what happened in the first part, I didn't think he would still be in the profession he was. There were too many people from the first part that appeared in the second part that I found it a bit unrealistic.

I was aiming to do a reread of the two Bastard MC books by Carina Adams (love them) but stumbled on Forever Red and couldn't resist! Wow I'm so glad I did!!!!!
Others have explained the storyline so I shan't, but if you love a teen romance, country star bad boy AND a second chance love story which starts at age sixteen and concludes, for now, at thirty, then look no further.
Neil/Nate and Lia/CeCe are this story's protagonists, with a fab set of secondary characters that kept me glued to my kindle till silly o'clock.
The epilogue was told by Mike and boy was there some shockers in that!!!
There were some important situations and revelations that I felt were skimmed over and not fully explained to my satisfaction. I'm hoping that future books in this series will give us alot more Nate and Lia.
Now I'm off to read book 2, which is Mike's story.
I'm also crossing my fingers that book 3 of this author's MC series will be out soon.
4.5 stars from me.

5 Star Review
I was given this Book for a honest review
Wow ..What can I say this book has it all .....
This book is told in 2 POV's and it covers teenage years where we get to know the main characters and then takes us to there present adult life.
Neil/Nate Kelly is new to town and when he arrives at the local high school he only has eyes for Lia. The only problem is Lia has motives of her own but that is all about to change as she gets to know the hunky Neil/Nate. As with all high schools we have drama, we have girls who are meant to be our best friends and girls who are mean as hell, we have love, romance and heartbreak. Then we have The Graduation Dinner and everything changes and everyone moves on.......
Move on to part 2 which is 12 years on ......
Neil is now Nate Kelly one of countries hottest, sexiest stars with a badass attitude to go with his tattoo's and piercings.
Its Lia's 30th birthday and her friends get her VIP tickets to meet Nate and his band, what they don't know is the history Lia and Nate share.
Does love really get second chances and can these two get over the past ....
This book has not only 2 characters that have chemistry it also has some amazing secondary characters in the best friends and members of the band , which I hope means this wont be the only book that Carina writes about this group.
look forward to more from this author
