FOREVER MARILYN [1953 - 1959] [4 Film Collection] [Blu-ray] Marilyn Monroe forever stands alone as Hollywood's quintessential icon of sex appeal and timeless allure. Her breathy voice, voluptuous figure and wide-ranging talents catapulted her to superstardom, where she remains as legendary today as ever. Immortalised here in this must-own collection are four of her best and most popular films, presented on these 4 stunning Blu-ray discs and the perfect format to showcase Marilyn Monroe's flawless beauty and captivating performances as they are meant to be seen.

Some Like It Hot [1959] After witnessing a Mafia murder, slick saxophone player Joe [Tony Curtis] and his long-suffering buddy, Jerry [Jack Lemmon], improvise a quick plan to escape from Chicago with their lives. Disguising themselves as women, they join an all-female jazz band and hop a train bound for sunny Florida. While Joe pretends to be a millionaire to win the band's sexy singer, Sugar [Marilyn Monroe], Jerry finds himself pursued by a real millionaire [Joe E. Brown] as things heat up and the mobsters close in.

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes [1953] Lorelei Lee [Marilyn Monroe] is a beautiful showgirl engaged to be married to the wealthy Gus Esmond [Tommy Noonan], much to the disapproval of Gus's rich father, Esmond Sr., who thinks that Lorelei is just after his money. When Lorelei goes on a cruise accompanied only by her best friend, Dorothy Shaw [Jane Russell], Esmond Sr. hires Ernie Malone [Elliott Reid], a private detective, to follow her and report any questionable behaviour that would disqualify her from the marriage.

The Seven Year Itch [1955] In the midst of a summer heat wave, New Yorker Richard Sherman [Tom Ewell] ships his wife, Helen [Evelyn Keyes], and their son off to Maine for vacation.

Great Four movie package, all looking a lot better in HD than DVD. The red dresses Monroe and Russell wear at the start of 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes' leap off the screen.

Excellent.

My review is based on the quality of the blu rays which I received today. They were for my birthday so the price was not so relevant to me however £26 for 4 movies sounds reasonable to me. Anyway, the picture quality is beautiful, colours so rich and clear, I love them and of course the movies themselves are top notch stuff, they just dont make them like this no more!...if you are in doubt as to whether to buy, my advice is go for it they are truly gorgeous and so well presented, well done on the HD upgrade here!

These films look amazing on Blu Ray.

I normally stick to modern or classic british stuff such as On The Buses / Only Fools and Horses.

I have never really enjoyed watching B&W films but these are just upbeat great films and where they are on blu ray the clearness of the films look superb.

Would recommend to anyone

This is a great set of films! Thoroughly enjoyed every film. In my opinion, not a single film is below 9/10. Really makes you realise just how much of a star this woman was. Far from overrated. The extras are great too. Particularly enjoyed seeing the trailers for other films she starred in.
