The last time Marin saw Trace Forester was when he was tearing up the neighbourhood, but that was also the time that she thought she had the perfect life, with the perfect husband. But Marin life has been turned upside down and now she is trying to get her life back on track while supporting herself. But Trace has returned, and he is all grown up, he his hot as hell and has total confidence. Marin would fall so easily for his undeniable charm and gorgeous looks. It would be so easy to let him into her life, but she learnt the hard way that having something you want never will come easy.
For Forester is Book 2 in the For You Series by J. Nathan. This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. After reading this book I can’t wait to see what else J. Nathan will bring to this series and what other great stories she will bring us.
This book was such a brilliant read that I couldn’t put down. I loved reading about the two characters in this book they are captivating to read and I liked everything about them. I loved every minute of this book, it had some twist that you didn’t expect, and situations that our characters were put in that got you real mad. This book had me entranced, swooning, and I loved every minute of it. I loved the connection that developed between Trace & Marin, it was slow yet heated and you could tell they had a connection yet Marin was trying her hardest to resist. But I also loved the developing connection Trace had with CJ, it just made Trace even more perfect. No questions asked he took CJ into his life like he was always there and made sure he gave him someone to look up to.
I loved the chemistry that these two characters had. During this book, they face some bumps along the way and some resistance from Marin, but their relationship was real, their connection was real and I think that is what both of them needed at that point in their life. I’m not all that big of a fan for sports, but the relationships in this book powered over the football talk, and even the little bit that was a part of it I enjoyed, as it came with the man that Trace was and what CJ looked up to.
This book had me smiling & laughing on numerous occasions throughout the book with seeing their connection blossom and change, the great lines that Trace would come out with and with the great response Marin would have back. These two are defiantly an incredible couple as they each balance each other out, heal each other and have an undeniable connection inside and out.
This book also has some great secondary characters that got their story told in Book 1 For Finlay but I’d also like to see a story with Marin best friend Gayle and also Sabrina, she gets mentioned a couple of times in this book but she never got to connect with Trace like they both wanted, it would be good to see her have a story of her own to tell.
This book was written in Dual POV’S, we did get more of Marin POV through this book but I’m still glad that we got to see some of the more important scenes going on between Marin & Trace come from Trace’s POV as well. We really got to see another side of Trace through this as we got to see how her really felt rather than the confident guy that he always is around people.
Trace was an incredible guy. He was confident but not cocky. He was charming, caring & considerate. When he knows what he wants he will do anything to go after it. I like that he wants to protect her and CJ but also expected and didn’t act all alpha when she protected him. He stands up for the people he cares about even if its facing off against his mother. He takes CJ into his life as though he is his own and does things to make CJ want to look up to him. He makes good decisions and goes after what he wants in life.
Marin is one of the strongest women I have read. Seeing the events that unfold in the epilogue somehow, she managed to stay strong, and through this book life continues to throw things at her but she is their ready to face whatever comes her way. She is beautiful, loving, caring, considerate and protects those she loves. I love that she realises how much her life changed and how much she changed and now she will do anything to get her back to the women she was before, getting a job, going back to college. She will do everything she can to be the best she can be, she also learns to except that her feelings are real and she shouldn’t hide away from them or Trace.
This is a beautiful eye-opening read, to show age doesn’t matter and that love can be found when you least expect it with someone incredible.
So, For Forester— I loved EVERYTHING about this story, but the older heroine/ MILF element was the icing AND cherry on the cake. It just had me smiling and weak at the knees all the way through. This book is definitely steamier than For Finlay, just a tad... little bit... their chemistry is just so freaking hot. HOT. H. A. F. Hawt. Trace and Marin's chemistry felt like it breathed life into me. I can't even begin to explain. However, what really got me was Trace and CJ's (Marin's son) bond. It was so endearing and it just took this story to a whole new level. Trace has a maturity that is way beyond his years and it really is highlighted by his love for this amazing kid. Marin is really easy to love, but lets face it— it's not just any guy that steps in and opens their heart to another man's child. But Trace, well, he doesn't just step in... he picks Marin and CJ up and carries them on his shoulders. Not that Marin is weak or struggling. No, she's a strong character in her own right. The dynamic of between the characters in this book is just so beautiful and natural and it just feels right. It feels easy, just like home.
The plot of this book was so expertly developed, and although the circumstances and story surrounding some of the characters is uneasy and sad and just wrong, it was all so eloquently and skillfully written and developed that it made it easy to read. Too easy. I could've had more and not be satisfied. Seriously. Don't misunderstand me, this is a full length novel and the story is told to perfection, however, I got so lost in it that when I got to the end I kept swiping at my screen hoping to have more.
I have to give it to Ms. Nathan— she has knocked it right out of the park yet again with For Forester. Bravo. I cannot wait for more from the For You series. It is warm sunshine on a cloudy day. It has the ability to make it all ok.
Trace Forester is Alabama’s star receiver, he is loved where ever he goes, on and off the field the boy has talents. Women line up to become a notch on his bed post, and there has always been one that started It all, filling his teenage boy fantasy’s and when he comes home for the summer holidays to make some cash, his teen fantasy asks for his help with her boy he leaps at the chance to spend time with them, after all isn’t it every boys wet dream to bend his teen fantasy over the kitchen table, or anywhere in fact.
Marin’s life has just imploded she has just found out that her perfect marriage was a sham, and now it’s time to put the life she had put on hold back to the fore front, starting over again and moving on, what she doesn’t expect is for the teenage boy she remembers to come back into her life as a full grown up hottie hunk, when her life seems to be falling apart and her son needs a male role model as her soon to be ex-husband isn’t up for the job, Trace seems like the perfect option.
The problems arise when what starts as a simple flirtation turns into something more akin to a summer romance, but when a devilish divorce is brought into the situation as well as a significant age gap, that if reversed wouldn’t be a problem but if an older woman goes after a younger man, there is always gossip and when you are related to the towns biggest gossip it seems amiss that she wouldn’t want to be the centre of attention.
