Delaney left the town of Wildwood, and her bad girl reputation, behind at eighteen. When her father dies, she is forced to return to town after ten years away, to save the family bar he has left her from being demolished. She decides to stay and turn Bad Seed around, but then she meets Ethan. Ethan is a building inspector who has plans for the Bad Seed himself, he knew Delaney before she left town and used to have a crush on her.
This was a great small town romance. The chemistry between Ethan and Delaney was explosive and the sexual tension that built up between them was off the charts. I love how Skye Jordan builds the characters and relationships and really draws you in. She is also excellent at writing very hot sex scenes! Forbidden Fling is in no way an exception to this, I was gripped from start to finish and could not get enough of Ethan, Delaney and the whole of Wildwood. This is a great start to a new series and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. There are so many characters that I would love to know more about!
Ethan Hayes has always harbored feelings for Delaney Hart. He also feels responsible for the events that caused her to run away from her hometown. Being from the enemy camp, makes matters worse. And though he does not represent his family, he is still convinced that getting rid of that rundown excuse of a building is the only way to make things better. But now when he has a chance of making it with Delaney, everything starts to create blockades; his family, his job, even the plans he made for his future. For Ethan and Delaney, this is the toughest decision they are ever going to have to make; Do they choose each other and give up their dreams or follow their dreams and lose each other?

Actually, with Ethan, mostly I wanted to pack his bags for him, fuel up his car and send him somewhere, anywhere, as long as it was far away from his awful family. Guilt plays a large part in this book, and the way it has shaped and transformed both Ethan and Delaney’s lives. For Ethan it kept him at home and turned him into the family whipping boy – which I never got, since his brother was actually there at Ian’s death, yet no one seems to be blaming him for not saving his cousin. He’s a man with dreams and plans, all of which have been stifled and crushed by his overbearing family.
He’s a good guy, for the most part, but he definitely need to stand up for himself more, so I loved it in the rare moments that he does. I also wish there had been less evasion – particularly when he first meets Delaney, because his behaviour then is not cool. Although I do feel Delaney was a bit harsh on him towards the end, since she wasn’t exactly up front and honest all along either.
Speaking of Delaney, I liked her too. I liked her strength and intelligence and the way she handles all the troubles thrown her way. Although, her homecoming clearly isn’t as bad as she imagined and sometimes portrays. Everyone seems happy to have her back, except for Ethan’s family. Still, I liked her when she wasn’t hiding things from Ethan and lying by omission.Read more ›
Skye Jordan is one of those authors, that after finishing one of her books, I am always left wishing she wrote faster and released books more often, because I remember just how much I love her writing. Forbidden Fling certainly did that for me, and I am pleased that we get to see more from the Wildwood series very, very soon.
Delaney Hart has returned home to a town that she left firmly in her wing mirrors ten years previously. She left with bad memories as well as a bad reputation, and her return will most likely spark those memories, and rekindle the reputation for the town of Wildwood in general, and several families in particular, especially when it comes to her families bar, The Bad Seed. But the Delaney that left, isn’t the wild child anyone remembers her as anymore, the woman that has returned knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go after it, even if she has only been back in town for a few hours, and isn’t 100% certain who it is, she’s actually going after initially.
"A Hayes and a Hart were never meant to be friends, let alone anything more."
Ethan Hayes, always admired from afar, before Delaney left, coming from one of the town’s most influential families, his presence on Delaney’s’ radar barely registered, seeing that she was into bad-boys, bad-behavior and bad-habits. But things have changed in the interim, and there is certainly more than a little attraction stirring between these two from the get-go, even if she doesn’t realize who he is on their first introduction.
"I never wanted anyone the way I want you. It… scares me.Read more ›
