Something my mother might of said only I forgot:
begin with small steps. Don’t rush thru a meal slow down and eat with a calm and cool mind eating is for nourishment and rushing it is not good for you. Maybe that’s one of the reasons why I have a problem losing weight!! This book explained how dieting works for me; or against me. I’m always buying diet books looking for an answer. Some work some don’t. This one worked for me.

My wife has been trying to lose weight for months and we were just talking about her switching diets. I was surprised when I was asked to give my honest review of "Food Rules for Weight Loss & Dieting" by Author David Fry in trade for a copy. My wife and I both checked it out because, as she pointed out "You could stand to lose a little too, ya know!"... Seeing her struggle with her cravings, isn't a great selling point to get me on board with the diets she's tried so far.

The first thing I noticed is that the book seemed really short for dieting advice and I thought that there wouldn't be enough information. I'm pleased to say that I wasn't disappointed in the amount of info my wife and I found. With this book, my wife figured out where she has been going wrong trying to lose weight. We also found, that if we eat the right things, in the right amounts, at the right times during the day, we could actually enjoy losing weight without all the stresses of "going without" dieting plans.

It's only the end of day 2 and my wife has modified the diet she's on. I'm just taking a few tips from the book on eating right. We both actually feel pretty good following this advice. Gee... who would have thought a little common sense, healthy eating could be this easy. It's a short book, but it's got a lot of useful information that we'll refer to often. It seems to deliver on the promise the author made quite well. I'll give this book 5 stars.

Did this book honestly just tell me about every crack pot diet on the market? Why? Waste of time. At least it discouraged the 1000 calorie diet.

Mr Fry wrote the holy grail of healthy eating verses dieting blunders that cause more harm than good. Everyone should read this book before even thinking about weight loss and how to become healthy and lower the likelihood of diseases.

I'm finding Rules for Weight Loss and Dieting to be extremely helpful. I've been wanting to loss a few pounds for awhile so I bought a few books to get me started. Most of them ended up being plans for Fad diets, which I didn't want to get into because they never work long term. This book is different. It doesn't tell you how to loss 97lbs in four days. It tells you how to change the way you eat in just such a way where your satisfied and still loss weight. I recommend this to everyone who wants to lose weight and have it stay off!
