Growing frustrated, I opted for Fodor's "Essential Ireland" to help me plan out the rest of our itinerary. I always have good luck with Fodor's so why I decided not to include their guide in my initial purchase is beyond me. Anyway, as expected, this guide was super helpful, insightful, full of suggestions about where to go, stay, and shop in a variety of price points and it offers the best overview of what Ireland is like today - which I always like reading. I also love the little side bars on regional food and specialties sprinkled throughout.
Bottom line: if you get one guide in Ireland, make it this one.
Wished I could return them earlier. but I did not realize how small the print was until I opened the Italy book.
I am a travel agent and in business for more than 35 years and have never encountered a travel guide with this small print..
I likes the Fodor books with their details much better even though the print is not a whole lot bigger.
