Pros: Great lawnmower. The machine really gives you a good cut for a small/medium lawn
Easy to manoeuvre in irregular shaped gardens
Great waste basket for removing grass
Good power from the machine
Useful having a long power cable for medium sized gardens
Cons: I literally took a star for this, but the instructions. They are worse than IKEA instructions, and that's saying something
Lack of folding mechanism for the lawnmower
Grass gets trapped in parts of the exit flap and needs to be cleaned out. A clear design flaw
Overall, a good machine that I would recommend.
Unboxing was straightforward. I take my time these days in any assembly work. Rushing leads to silly errors. Read the instructions as well, checked everything was in the box, and started assembly. Took about 45 minutes in total, taking it easy. No issues at all. Some reviewers say the assembly of the grass collecting box is a faff. You do have to be careful. Make sure all the slots are lined up correctly to the clips before fixing both halves together. Then it will be fine. It was for me anyhow!
I used the mower for the first time on medium length DRY grass. Set the height initially at 4. Far too high. Then 3. Still too high. The lower setting of 2, one off the shortest cut, was the one.
The mower is not brilliant to use, although good enough. The pressure you need to exert on the starting handles is a little tedious to maintain full revs. Made my hands/wrists a little sore after 10 minutes or so. Quite a heavy bit of kit really to manoeuvre. The end result though was what I needed. A good finish.
Recommended at £58!
Only reason it didn't get 5/5 is because there are nooks and crannies at the rear of the unit where the grass box connects that fill with grass so when you clean it after use (you do that right!), it's not just a quick brush over, you need to go over a few times and get your fingers in to parts. Seems an oversight in the design to be honest. Don't get me wrong, I recommend this product, but need to be clear.
I have a large garden but didn't want to pay another £100 for the slightly larger version - didn't think an extra 3cm was worth paying for.
