I have absolutely loved everything about this book. This is my favourite book by Zoe May yet, I started reading this one and became so engaged; I devoured the entire book in just one sitting.
This is a book filled with a range of characters who are mainly likeable. Paul is a bit of a douche on occasions- but we all know this type of guy.
I have loved the theme of rediscovery throughout this book. It has been enlightening and also motivating. The setting has been set perfectly and I feel that I have been able to escape the busy hustle of reality and visit the cosy retreat.
I have read all of Zoe's books, this is definitely a favourite. I've laughed out loud on more than one occasion reading this one. I love Zoe's books, this one has been no different and I can honestly say that I cannot wait to read more.
This book has a gorgeous cover and the story is equally as fantastic. This is an original and unique book entirely different to anything I've previously read.
This is a book that I highly recommend and is without a doubt five star worthy. Five stars doesn't show how truly fantastic this book is. Definitely check it out.

So I know the second in this series, Flying Duo, is coming out next year and I remembered I had a copy of the first, so I thought I had better start there.
Rachel thinks her boyfriend Paul is going to propose, which would put her on track for her life list, but she gets a rude shock when he ups and dumps her, jetting off to India. With some gentle persuasion from her friend Priya, she goes after Paul and tries to win him back. What she doesn't expect is that the trip will change her life by meeting the handsome Seb along the way.
Flying solo is a romance all about taking chances and finding yourself in the most unexpected places.
Rachel is ambitious, organised and focused which in the beginning of the novel made her a little unlikeable but as she starts to relax and we find out why she is the way she is, I really warmed up to her.
My only issue was with Seb, I felt he was a bit bland compared to Rachel. Maybe it was just because he seemed so chilled out or maybe he needed a little more development but as I said earlier, there's a second novel coming out soon so I'm looking forward to getting to know his character better.
Flying Solo is a light-hearted romance and the perfect for a bit of escapism.

According to London lawyer Rachel Watson's Life List she should be married by now. So when her long-term boyfriend plans a romantic date she is certain that this is another goal she can tick off her Life List. Rachel is ready to accept Paul's proposal but instead he drops a bombshell - he's going alone to India to find himself. A distraught Rachel decides to follow Paul to India to win him back. Flying solo to India is definitely not a part of her Life List. But could her spontaneous trip teach her some unexpected lessons?
I loved everything about this book and thoroughly enjoyed Rachels experiences and transformation. There is a likeable cast in this story and I was pleased that it was set in India! I found the story very entertaining when Rachel got to India. The author has a very clear understanding of India and the culture. I love how the author describes the well known "jaunty head wobble". The author also wrote a very good metaphor about the jaunty head wobble which I thought was a very good touch and excellent writing.
It was very entertaining to read when the author gave Rachel a surprise with the way that the taxi's drive in India. London is a very busy and high traffic location, but India's roads and traffic is on another level. I adored how the author understood that the food in India tastes like no other and I understand why Rachel enjoyed eating at the paratha place - paratha's are definitely delicious.
The story was mainly set in an ashram. I'm very into spiritual practices and I was entertained by all of Rachel's ashram experiences. Rachel experiences meditation, spirit animals and I hadn't even heard of Spiritual Ascension Snakes & Ladders but I loved it!
The author describes Rachel's transformation with charm at times. It was lovely to ready how entranced Rachel was with the peacock and with the beauty of her location. The story is not only about Rachel finding herself and finding love, but there is a twist with the guru and the ashram itself which is a very good addition to the story.
It was really nice to read about things in a novel that I can relate to, this made this entire story particularly enjoyable for me. I also really enjoyed the theme of rediscovering yourself and it was nice to go on Rachel's journey with her. As you can tell I loved everything about this book, it was a wonderfully easy and enjoyable read. The author really knows how to write a good romcom. I highly recommend it to romcom fans.

From the start of the book I was all in, there’s nothing better than an expected proposal and this was done amazingly, I was with Rachel as she prepped herself for the big night (or two) and fell in step with the nice touches of humour, easily. Rachel’s back story was so sad and actually I wished I’d got it much earlier, as I think I connected with Rachel even more when I heard all she’d gone through. I mispredicted early on and loved that I did, as the author’s way was so much better than what I expected to happen!
I loved Rachel trying to adapt to life in India, although you experience India more as a compound than actual indian life if you know what I mean and I enjoyed that it was more about the way people lived in places that thrived on travellers finding themselves. The characters were great, the comedy brilliant, I get from the end that there’s possibly a sequel, but even with that the ending was very sudden but all in all such an enjoyable read and one that I flew through. Very much recommended.
