At less than 20p per plane, these attractive little WWII models are just great value for money. They are hard to fly straight, but can be made to bank, turn and loop-the-loop.

Obviously they aren't very durable, although they'll often take a few days of roughish treatment. When they do break, try to keep the nosecones and propeller bits to mend future planes as these parts are easily lost.

My nephews aged five to thirteen squabbled over these - always a good sign of a toy's desirability. They'd be a great addition to kids' party bags.

I used to buy these planes as a small boy (too many years ago now!) and I wanted to get a couple for my son. You can still buy them individually in the shops but they are now over a pound or so... in this box you get 48 for less than a tenner and you get all of the types that they do in the set. Yes I would admit that they are a little flimsy for my 2 year old if he gets a little rough with them but just seeing his face light up when he throws them (or when I throw them) is worth every penny and you know that if they do break it is only 50p and you can just take another one out of the pack. That being said he is learning to be more careful and now we play with them much more gently and he finds it more fun making great aeroplane noises running around the garden watching the propeller go around.

I highly recommend these small planes to any one but buy them in bulk to get the real value. They fly quite well in a light wind and my son loves them... I will be buying more when these are all gone but we still have over 40 left in the box and we've had them for a few months now!!

When my wife told me about her nephews new love for planes, I immediately thought back to my childhood and the hours of fun I got from these bad boys, back when you could play games in the street in the UK. I searched around and found these planes, and boy was I happy. Once they arrived, I couldn't bear to part with them all so kept several for myself and had a blast with them. I remember playing with these 30 years ago and having loads of fun, and they still deliver. I gave the whole set (12 different ones) to my nephew and his dad also had a blast with them. Do not bother with the smaller boxes, get 48 as if you're like me you'll want to keep a load for yourself as well!

Took these to a kids outdoor birthday party, they were a welcome addition to the proceedings but didn't last long before they started snapping and generally breaking up. Okay, they are dead cheap and retro and bring back great memories but I can't help but think that back when I was a lad in the 80's that these were built better and more durable. They certainly aren't the exact same ones as I remember one or two of the models being very memorable (I recall one had a double fuselage). These weren't present in a whole box so although these bring back good childhood memories they are not the exact same ones but fun none the less.

got them when i was small, found some in a shop for 40p desided to get one of each for my little brother 12 year old, he loved them spent the next few days trying to fly them over the pool in spain, some drowned some crashed into plants but some made it!
he had so much fun i have got 3 boxs to give to all the little boys in my family so they can all crash them in the garden!
they do bend as they are just printed on polistiren they have small parts the spinning propelor but they love them they keep the not broken bits and then out comes the selotape to make there own planes with two wings or two bodys! or propelors on each wing! very good and a must have in any kind life, better than a paper plane!

Having been let down by a different seller, I-Tech came through & levelled the field with a prompt delivery of this xmas stocking classic.

Same packaging & designs as when you were 7 years old (though do assemble with an adult or a kid may bend the styrene straight out of the pack.

These fly so well, which is part of the nostalgic experience, sure fire winners any day in party packs, for fetes, or as I do keeping a few in the glovebox of the car so if my child is hanging around & bored whilst out we have an option for play.

give thee a bit of space in a garden or park (even a street) they will eventually break but oh what fun in the meantime!
(this brand is probably the reason I never learnt to fold a paper plane (& still can't) ...because these are so much better.
The propeller is, as always a nice touch spinning as it glides through the air, (remember those searches for a lost prop? scouring the "flightpath"

Be gentle with it & have fun, buy a box & make a party go with a bang, just be prepared to show & perhaps make the first planes for your kid as they tend to be kackhanded (never glued an airfix model in their lives) until you are sure they aren't going to bust it straight out of the packet, these are just polystyrene you know!

All the favourites are there, supermarine spitfires (several variants), hurricane, focke wulf ...& the others we used to rummage through, invariably the japanese planes were always left as I recall!

So don't give them a choice give em a plane, they ALL fly well.
