We were at the library and before I'd even made it to the bookshelves my 2 year old son had spotted this and grabbed it! So we borrowed the book and have read it at least 4 times a day ever since. It's about toy diggers which 'magically transform into life-size flying diggers' to go on a rescue mission to save a tiger cub. The plain text style is typically Ian Whybrow - if you've read any of his other books you'll know what I mean - and is short enough with just the right amount of excitement to stimulate my son's imagination (not an easy task) and keep his interest for the whole book. It's also short enough for both of us to remember the words; him for reading them back and me to save having to look at it if we're reading it while I'm doing the ironing! The lovely illustrations are colourful and detailed enough for my son to be able to identify all the different parts on the diggers.

In short, if your toddler is into transport and diggers, they'll really love this book.

We have a large collection of Ian Whybrow books in our house and when I saw that he had published a book about diggers I knew it would be worth a look. This will be a hit with all little boys who obsess about construction vehicles. The fact that they fly is a great added bonus and really encourages a child's imagination to run wild. It is beautifully illustrated and very colourful. The story is engaging but short enough to hold a toddler's attention right to the end. A lovely story book for all little boys.

This is one of the worst children's books that we've received. The illustrative style is unattractive, the language is poor with 'a bit spesh' being one of the phrases used, and the story is terrible. There are so many better books out there!

The pictures are great. My son, at 2.5 years old loves all the diggers, but I feel the story is terrible and not enjoyable to read aloud. I also didn't like the way language was used. Ended up sending it back.

After getting this book out of the library, and reading it at least half a dozen times a day for the three week loan period, we had to renew it as my toddler adored it! Within a few days he knew it inside out, and could tell you if you missed a word, even though he isn't reading himself yet. He was really upset when we had to return it to the library, so after recalling it once, we decided to buy our own copy - it is by far the favourite book of the moment, and well worth the money!

My five year old fell in love with it and now wants his own digger.

Perfect book for little boys! My 4 year old boy absolutely loves this book, not only has it got Diggers, which he loves, but "Flying diggers"... what more could imaginative little boys want!
The pictures are lovely, and it has a nice rhyming story, which makes it easy for children to remember most of the words, before they can read themselves.

My little boy is 2 and a bit and absolutely loves this book. He's already finishing some of the sentences. Nicely illustrated and worded. And, most importantly, it's got crocodiles. What more does a little boy need?
