This short Story by Sarah Mcfarlane packs a lot of tension and emotional confusion into its short length and for that reason it appealed to me. I am still not sure if I like, dislike or just feel sorry for the main characters and I like this uncertainty. If you are seeking a quick read on your journey to work it is certainly worth reading. Given the option I would have probably given a 3.5 rating but as this perhaps has more to do with my lack of familiarity with short stories I went for the 4 rating. I will definitely explore Sarah's other writing. I would have liked to see a slightly longer version of the story which allowed characters and situations to evolve at a slower speed as I felt the story was sometimes being forced along, but perhaps that is just me being a bit pedantic
