I bought this book because I would like to grow flowers for profit and other books I had looked at were about growing for a private cutting patch. The book is ideal for those in my position and I really was not disappointed. It is logical, comprehensive and honest, indeed surprisingly so. The author seems to genuinely hope others might choose to become flower farmers and shares truly useful practical tips. It is a book to read with a notebook next to you.

I am not a Flower Farmer nor am likely to become one but this book is simply a joy to read. Georgie inspires even the amateur to convert a small patch of earth. The photos are wonderful, the writing is inspirational and I'm already planning my small garden to produce cut flowers for next year.

Full of details, the author is very generous with her advice and the knowledge gained through running her own business. I've come back to this time and time again and now want (need!) her other book.
This is a fabulous source of information for anyone interested either in growing flowers for their home or as a business. Plenty of facts on how to get started and avoid making the same mistakes she did. A book full of passion and sound advice to help you avoid making costly mistakes.

Really solid advice presented beautifully but not so fussily it distracts you from absorbing Newbery's extensive and generously shared knowledge. The writing is really clear with just enough personal touches and stories to keep you interested and stop it feeling like an instruction manual. My first few flower seeds haven't done anything great this summer but I'm excited to try again in the spring. The author takes most of the photographs and they're visibly not professional but I actually found that gives it a personal touch and makes it look closer to something you can imagine achieving yourself.

This book considers every aspect you could imagine (and some you probably couldn't) about growing and selling cut flowers on a small scale. Highly recommended to anyone who is thinking of travelling down this floral pathway
