A less well known "sequel" to All quiet on the western front", it tells the story of a lost generation. It deserves to be better known. Wars disrupt lives, the combatants and the civilians. Remarque never poses or indulges in righteous indignation. He simply tells a story about real and easily understood people. They could so easily be us.A modern classic.
