I enjoyed this book as I was reading, the story itself reminded me of a film I'd possibly seen in the past that I couldn't put a name too and a few other stories I have read in the past too. I feel like the author has used these things, like calling the serial killer The Mangler to try and get more people to read the story and to try and make it more interesting to read. Overall, it wasn't too badly written, it really made me want to read more despite the similarities to other stories.
The characters needed more work, I didn't find them believable, I felt like more work could have gone into making them into more well rounded characters. The ending needs more work to it as well. I felt it ended abruptly. I was waiting for an horror filled climax that would leave me thinking about it and struggling to sleep. What I actually got was an abrupt, anticlimactic ending that felt to me like it was missing something and that it was cut short just shy of the actual ending It could have been such a great little short story, but with the one dimensional characters, the repetitiveness in places and the sometimes overwhelming similarities to other stories I've read it failed to get more than a three star review.
If you want a fast read, short story from the horror genre and are looking for a free book too, then pick it up. Being a free book you haven't got much to lose only your time if you don't like the book. It isn't very horror filled either for those who don't like their books to be too frightening.
After the first main incident in the book, the story then remains on a monotonous downhill slide into predictable gore .
What is he going to do about defeating the evil ?
who cares ?
I didn't have time to read it straight away as had other books started and such.
I read it in about 30 minutes.... this book is amazing. It is packed with twist and turns for each character.
Must read for any paranormal/horror fan!!
I was a little upset on how the book finished I felt it needed a little more it feels unfinished.
But it's definitely a must read
