Following on from their stunning debut,Hatchet repeated the performance on this disc(often cited as their best,i dont think there is much to choose between this and their debut).

Like the first album this veers from out n out southern metal Flirtin with Disaster/Boogie no More while Skynyrd influnces abound on 'Long Time/Jukin City'

throw in some rock n roll, country style with Its All Over Now/Good Rockin and the superb Let The Good Times Roll and you have another sure fire winner and an album that ultimately went platignum.

The stand out track as most afficionados of this band will tell you is the guitar frenzy that is Boogie No More, possibly the heaviest and best track they ever recorded.

Bonus Tracks: 4 in all,the excellent demo 'Silver and Sorrow' which fits in with the likes of All Over Now/Let The good Times Roll , two live version of One Mans Pleasure and the title track, neither of which stray too far from the studio version, however the piece de resistance is Hatchets cover of R Johnsons 'Crossroad Blues,a smokin live version recorded in jacksonville in 1980 as were the other live tracks.

A fantastic album from a fantastic band, the only way surely was up,well actually no,things were never the same after this, that will have to wait for another review.

FLIRTIN, WITH DISASTER was MOLLY HATCHETS most famous album and there biggest seller. I only say that because that might explain why this cd/dvd is called that. Recorded in KENTUCKY IN 2006 the band are older and fatter than the 70,s and the crowd less hell raising and more family but the performance and the sound and picture on the dvd is out of this world, if your into SUVERN ROCK get for about£5 NOW1.

If you read my previous reviews then you'll know where i stand, the reviews are honest and sincere, some you'll like others you wont but their honest.

Now this is the the business,Hlubeck is back, seems happy to be a sideman in the band he formed and the band is cookin, this is easily the best live disc the Bobby Ingram led Hatchet have released.

From 'Whisky Man' thru to 'Flirtin with Disaster' the band rocks like a southern rock band should,we might just have found the line up that deserves to hold the name Molly Hatchet,Beamer & Lindsey are a formidable rythmn section, while Hlubeck is the perfect foil to Bobby Ingram(he really is a superb guitar player) while Phil McCormack is a decent singer(and has toned down some of his on stage nonsense). Recorded in front of a (selected/fan club? audience) in Kentucky? the band put in a stunning performance.

It would be pointless to do a track by track discussion as they are all superb but special mention must be made of the rendition of 'Rainbow Bridge', the emotion etched on Bobby Ingrams face is astounding and raises the hair on the back of my (not so redneck),its easily the high point of the show and the audience watches in hushed reverance.

The dvd is fantastic, well shot, the package also includes a cd of the show which is excellent if like me you prefer live discs to dvd's.

Interesting interview with Bobby Ingram during the bonus features,he's alot less arrogant and personable(to me at least) than in previous years.its still hard for me to see him as the leader of Molly Hatchet but on this showing i can certainly warm to him, would love to have had an interview with Dave Hlubeck, seeing as he was the biggest critic of the band continuing, but hey here's hoping they have worked it all out as together they are magnificent,5 stars all the way, an essential purchase.

Molly Hatchet was a southern US lady of the night who use to mutilate and then decapitate her clients!!. Flirtin` with disaster is the bands second album. Southern rock and roll in a sort of Skynyrd, Outlaws,Blackfoot,38 special, type rock style .There are only a handful of TRIPLE guitared bands and these guys rock. Classic albums we should all own or hear once at least!

Bought this album on vinyl in the 70's, & had to buy cd as i no longer have a turntable. American boogie rock at it's very best.
