This series was obviously written for teenaged girls, but I still enjoy it at 25. It's sort of my guilty pleasure. When the shows started on TV, I got into them & just HAD to find out who A is & what happened to Alison. I bought the whole series from Amazon & I'm really enjoying it!

Format: Paperback
Four old friends from Rosewood, Pennsylvania are all trying to hide secrets. Spencer has been seeing her sisters boyfriend, Hanna is making herself sick to try and look perfect, Aria has had a failed romance with her teacher and Emily is worrying over feelings she is having for her friend Maya.
However they all have a bigger secret they are trying to protect, the part they and their dead friend Alsion played in the blinding of a girl named Jenna. Alison was missing in the first book of this series and the 4 girls were all getting messages from someone calling themselves 'A' threatening to spill their secrets who they presumed was Alison, but since then her body has been found and buried but the messages still continue leaving the girls worrying and wondering just who A can be.
This book is even more mysterious than the first and I absolutely loved it, I can't wait for the third book as there is so many more unanswered questions!

I can see why these books got adapted into a major hit show- they are so gripping, thrilling and thoroughly entertaining. Whether a fan of the show or not you can enjoy these books in their own right- and the best thing- the show's based on the books but they are so different that none of them spoil the other. Get these books- you won't regret it!

Format: Hardcover
Four girls from privileged backgrounds are united at the funeral of Ali, a former friend who disappeared a few years ago and has now shown up dead. The girls are all off living their individual lives and playing with fire in different ways - one is stealing her sister's boyfriend, another is in love with a teacher, one's possibly gay and another's definitely bulimic - but they're brought back together when they start receiving anonymous messages from someone who is threatening to expose their deepest secrets, and rock their settled community like never before. Whoever this mysterious `A' is who's sending the notes, it's someone who is close to all four girls, knows everything about them as it happens, and is getting ready to spill the beans.

All the press blurb seems to be comparing this book to the O.C., but I think it resembles much more a junior Desperate Housewives, where Fairview has become Rosewood, and Gabby, Susan, Lynette and Bree have become Spencer, Aria, Emily and Hanna. They may be high school students, but they too have dirty laundry, and scandalous behaviour that would put their older counterparts to shame - these are the sort of girls who stop at nothing to get what they want, even if it means having to bluff their way into true-love-waits style Virginity Club meetings in order to deflower their unsuspecting boyfriends.

I knew from a few pages in that I was going to love this book because it's exactly the sort of thing I like - down to earth writing that flows with no interruptions, juicy plot lines, enough but not too many twists and turns, and some outrageous characters with shocking behavior.

This review is by proxy for my wife. She says that the first two Pretty Little Liars books have been greatly entertaining.

When I first started this series I found the first book to be difficult to read, hard to follow and excessively boring. This one has completely changed my view. Whilst I still prefer The Lying Game, this book had me hooked and I read the whole thing front to back in a few hours. It has a total of about 274 pages.

I loved the suspense, the good feeling, all the energy, the shocks and twists and turns as we start to build a much clearer picture of what happened to Ali and who the killer may be. It takes on a Lying Game feel as everyone becomes a suspect and nobody has answers.

I won't say too much as I don't want to spoil it for anyone but if you loved the first book you'll love this even more, if you weren't so keen on the first one, this will completely change your mind about the series.

FLAWLESS, the second book in the PRETTY LITTLE LIARS series, creates some serious questions for readers. But like many books in a series, you should only read this second book if you've read the first, to get the full effect! You wouldn't want to ruin a good book!

In FLAWLESS, an unexpected person dies, and the girls continue to get more notes from someone named "A." The identity of "A" is still the big, looming question in this book! Some unanswered questions about Aria, Hanna, Emily, and Spencer are answered. Some of the things that we all wondered from the first PRETTY LITTLE LIARS book are also answered. But there are definitely still things that I wanted--and needed--to know!

After I read PRETTY LITTLE LIARS, I knew I had to read the sequel! But now, with FLAWLESS, there are still so many unanswered questions at the end that we'll have to read the entire series, including book three, to find the answers!
