'Flavour' lives up to its name - the recipes are PACKED with flavour. In terms of dessert dishes, I've made the pretzel peanut butter pie for a group of kids, and they basically hoovered it down. The dark treacle brownies were immensely rich and just perfect with a coffee. I am very, very far from a confident baker but I found the recipes simple to follow, and the results were just what I would have hoped for. I've also made the chickpea dumplings (so so delicious - as good as any meat dish, if not better), the vegan chilli, and the cornbread pancakes. Every recipe had great instructions and produced tasty, flavourful food. I'm also looking forward to trying to make the kale and mozzarella pie, and the groundnut chicken stew.
I think the sign of a good cookery book is that it's not only chock full of recipes you want to make, but also allows you to produce perfect, tasty food no matter what recipe you try. Flavour is a book that does everything I hoped for. I'd highly recommend it.
The recipes are full of flavour, delicious and easy. Her carrot and chickpea salad is a weeknight staple, and her vietnamese beef salad is my partner's favourite Friday night meal.
I cannot recommend this book highly enough. I've even got a copy for my mother!
