These characters make me laugh so much. Full of drama and angst you can't help but love em. Booth and Masen are so totally in love it's beautiful to see. But love can hurt too. Their journey is a tricky one but no less awesome.

Another great at from Lanier Lynne Vale. The highlight of my month every month is the release of a new book from this author. Doesn't matter what series or whistles story is it, they're all brilliantly fantastic.

Booth Jones may have left town but that didn’t mean that Masen Crisfield’s heart ever actually let go, he has owned her hook line and sinker for more than a decade and although they have a prickly edge that refuses to lay down and give them time to breathe, they cannot deny that the feelings that were there previously are back and this time they have to face the way they feel.
So can they find a way to where they need to be? Can they forgive and forget the past pain and find a future?
I liked the deviation the author had in this story, I loved the fact that this pair had history. They had hurt to work through, the sort of pain that you just can’t wash over, the sort of angst that makes for an addictive read.
I love the fact that Masen was a feisty character that she reacted without thinking much of the time but I also liked the fact that Booth knew what to expect with her, and how much rope to give her before he started to reel her back in. They knew how to handle each other but that was topped off by the fact that they also knew what buttons to push.
What they had was always going to go the distance, they were always going to find their happy ever after, the pull of the story was the thrill of watching the ride they were going to have to take together in order to get there.
A super addition to The Kilgore Fire Series.

Lani Lynn Vale is an automatic must read for me, I love her books and can never wait to get the next one.

When I read the synopsis for this I have to admit I put off reading it, there were some of the topics I completely avoid mentioned in it so I wasn't sure if I would like it as much as her other books. I have to say though I loved it just as much.

We meet Masen in Shock Advised, and I liked her instantly. She stuck by Mia through thick and thin and helped her through an awful time so I knew her character would be amazing in her own story. I couldn’t have predicted Masen’s story and my heart broke for her during parts of it!

Booth was a tough guy to connect with at the beginning of this story! I understood to a point why he was this way but there were a few times he was just so callous and I was left screaming at my kindle because of this!

This book had all of Lani Lynn Vale’s signature touches. There was a hot alpha male, a kickass heroine, a unique storyline that grabs your attention and some of the characters we have grown to love so much made appearances!! I can't wait to get more from the men of Kilgore Fire!!
