This is fine -- if you want some pictures apparently taken with a fairly ordinary camera by a non-professional of random old houses and don't mind general dates like "Georgian" and "Victorian" and no sense of where most of the buildings are.

If you are actually trying to date something more specifically, or looking for examples of the correct period or correct features for restoration in a particular locality, look elsewhere. There are lots of other much better books on the same subject out there. The only good thing about it is that it includes lots of vernacular examples, but without more specifics about exactly where they are, it's not much help.

A poor imitation of a book similarly titled by Linda Hall - Buy the Linda Hall Book instead
