Have never read anything by Alex Gray, and now i'm hooked. I was completely wrong when I thought I had worked out the murderer. Well written and keeps you reading until the end. Will be reading more from this author in the future.

Gorging myself in these reads and thoroughly enjoying immersing myself in the characters that spring to life from the pages. I feel such sadness when I get to the end of each book and then excitement at what lies ahead....

Thus is a great story with twists and turns. The frustration leaps from the pages as Lorimer attempts to identify the criminal
The setting in Greenock and Glasgow I love as this wS where I spent my younger years
I even cycled with the Jontstone Wheelers
Nice one

I enjoyed the book but I guessed the killer 80 pages in. The main pleasure of reading the rest of the book was seeing how Lorimer was going to get there. I'd be interested to know if anyone else had the same experience, because to my mind there are some fairly large, clunking clues from the start and I'm surprised that Gray's publisher didn't get her to take them out. But maybe I've just read too much of this kind of stuff. Of course it was all a bit implausible but I guess nobody reads crime fiction for the plausibility.

I read "Glasgow Kiss" and thoroughly enjoyed it. This is the one featuring Lorimer & his wife Maggie that I decided to read next on my Kindle. I felt that some of the characters were just not as believable this time. The characters in "Glasgow Kiss" were in my humble opinion very rounded & much more believable. I just couldn't take the "baddie" seriously. The descriptions of the landscape are lovely and I enjoyed it but as you can tell not as much as the last one I read. Maybe I'll try one more?

This was another good Lorimer story and worth four and a half stars. I felt very involved with the investigation and prefered the murderer being someone who had been included throughout the story- not always the case in this series of books. In addition, the lives of the regular characters progressed and added interest.
