Well I must say, she has found her pace and this book is really good. The suspense is building and I'm beginning to feel empathy towards Julz.
I predict a 5* for the next book if the author continues improving book by book as I think she has done so far. That's not supposed to be patronising, so I apologise now if that's the way it's been read. I mean I sometimes think in a series, it can go two ways. They can start off brilliant and fade away to a damp squid ending, or they can start off a bit non-descript like this and build to a crescendo.
I'm really enjoying this series
The only real problem I have with this book is the cost for the amount of book you get it's way overpriced especially since we more or less know beforehand what each book contains.
There are some tender moments between Jase (Dornan's youngest son whom Julz was involved with for many years, (remember her face has been changed, he doesn't know it is her) and Elliot another previous lover who is helping her. You feel for Julz now as she is tired and drained and hurting, but still she carries on her relentless mission of revenge.
If you haven't read this series then you really should because it is just brilliant. I can't wait to start four score !!!!
With the way the last book ended, yet again I was eager to start this one. Five Miles (Gypsy Brothers #3) Juliette's plan to kill Maxi had worked, but nearly at the cost of her life. Some may give up at this point thinking the risks are too high, but not our girl Juliette's she has a plan, and she is determined to do whatever it takes to carry it out even if the stakes are now higher. I just love her!!
It's almost like I'm dying.... little by little; piece by piece. Burnt out, shattered, breaking apart under the weight of my lies- and I still have five to go.
During Five Miles we learn more about Juliette and Elliot relationship, and I have to say I really like him, and loved what he did for her. The connection they share is still very strong.
“No it wasn’t a fairytale that brought Elliot to me. It was a f***ing nightmare…He’d risked everything for me”
What I loved about this one is that I thought I knew what is going to happen, and boom!!! Everything changes. I’m starting to have a few theories about Jason; only time will tell if I’m right. He cares so much for Juliette. But I did feel for him as he has suffered too.
“I cling to him tightly, all the while wondering if it’s wiser to let go and finish it all now, before he figures out the person I’ve become. Before he has a chance to hate me even more than he already does.
Lili St. Germain has continued to hook me with her amazing storytelling and writing. The intensity, the suspense, the emotion, and the shock factor of the story are still high. Four Score the next book in the series is sitting on my Kindle, and I can’t wait to get started.
Elliot believes Juliette is getting in too deep, he can’t understand how she can be around Dornan (neither can I) and he worries it won’t end well with her. But Juliette has to return, there are still five lives she needs to end.
Dornan officially gives me the creeps!! Every time he touches “Sammi” I want to tear his hands off, I understand Juliette is fuelled by hatred and revenge but I do struggle every time she lets Dornan near her, after what he and his sons did to her, how she can willingly let him into her body. As icky as it is, I suppose it does add to the whole messed up situation.
Elliot is always looking out for Juliette and he gives her a solution to take out the remaining brothers and Dornan. The suspense was kicked up a notch and I was so nervous for Juliette as I knew it wouldn’t be as easy as it seemed.
The relationship between Jase and Juliette began to soften, although Juliette was continually wracked with guilt as she hated lying to Jase but she knew it was essential.
“I cling to him tightly, all the while wondering if it’s wiser to let go and finish it all now, before he figures out the person I’ve become. Before he has a chance to hate me even more than he already does.”
With everything that is going on, it feels weird for me to be rooting for Jase and Juliette but the romantic in me can’t help it. I want Dornan gone and for Jase and Juliette to have a real chance.Read more ›
