Absolutely live this product..! Integration with the FitBit app is key, and has made it so much easier to tuse all my progress towards target BMI I’m trying to hit. Also works great for multiple users, so my partner and I both can track weight, % body fat, BMI etc with our own personal choice of metric/kg or imperial/stones and pounds measurements - it just knows automatically which one of us is using the scales each time.
Got this when it was on offer but this is the epitome of how a smart product should be. Having already got a Fitbit Charge HR 2, I was a keen fitbit user. So setting this product up was as simple as typing in my wifi password on my phone, and a 4 digit security code. That is it. I now weigh myself every morning and in about 5-10 seconds I get my weight, Body fat % and BMI with trend graphs automatically building. Both my wife and I use it and it automatically knows who is standing on it and syncs our weights to our separate Fitbit accounts automatically
The only thing I don't understand yet is the tolerance level for change as sometimes, if you have gone up or down a few pounds since the last weigh in it thinks you are a GUEST user and you have to manually set where it should sync but this is rare
Easy to set up, perfect for keeping track of weight but like others have said it's inconsistent for body fat. I knew this before purchasing so it still gets 4 stars from me.
17/02/18 - Been using it for a few months now with no issues, surface does show marks but that's to be expected. Still updates to the mobile app with no problems and battery life is still good. Keeping it at 4 stars due to price and body fat inconsistent readings.
I have spent 2 hours trying to set it up this morning. I did manage to set it up but its connection to the Wifi was very temperamental - it said Wifi was weak when I was sitting next to the hub (yet my mobile phone displayed a full strength signal). Once set up, I weighed myself but it displayed weight only, no body fat composition or lean mass. The display screen goes blank and you're not sure whether it is still trying to collect the data. After a while, you realise it isn't. It also did not sync to my phone and there does not seem to be a manual sync option as there is with my Blaze. I reset it, removed the device from the App and started the set up process again. The same process as above happened on repeat. Also the set up instructions are inadequate, there is no detail, just cartoon images more appropriate for a 5 year old. As this was a gift, I hadn't read any reviews prior to receiving it, but now having read both Amazon reviews and the Fitbit Community Forum, these problems seem rife. I fear this product will frustrate me greatly and will be returning it.
Expensive but works really well. I had my body fat measured at the gym with calipers twice and both times it was same reading as the Aira scales. It's important to do the weigh in at the same time every day. I do it first thing every morning. It sends the results straight to the fitbit app. You can view the results instantly. It plots weight over time, BMI & Lean body mass. Then it plots your weight goals against this. Really useful for staying on track!
I’m baffled how and why fitbit think this is a medical device. It is completely useless for measuring body fat. You get inconsistent body fat readings. Worst still you’d think that it would atleast give u an accurate weight consistently - it doesn’t. For example if I get on scales it says 11st7lbs for example. I get off and get on with some weights then go off then come back on again with nothing on. It now shows 11st 5lbs.
It seriously baffles me that fitbit have stooped so low to state these are medical devices when it can’t give basic consistent readings. The picture I’ve added shows the weight taken in the space of 10mins.
I purchased these scales as I wanted to monitor weight and body composition with the use of an app but found that 50% of the time the scales time out before logging on to your WiFi meaning the results do not appear on the app until you use them again for another 50% chance!! I have an expensive mesh WiFi system so I don't expect WiFi connectivity issues. Search the Web (as I did after purchasing) and you will see a common issue.
I returned and purchased the Nokia Health+ scales. In 2 weeks using daily they have not failed to upload, I am so pleased and would recommend these every time.
