I definitely wouldn’t recommend it.
Other than than that, it's a pretty sleek looking tracker (I wanted something I could imagine Batman wearing). It does everything I want a tracker to do - and the real star is the app that allows you to fully customise what data you want to see.
The website is good and gives background & historical information
Now, the not so good news - the heart rate monitor. Put bluntly, if you do anything more than a brisk walk, the monitor constantly loses connection or gives an incorrect reading. I'm a regular gym goer and God-alone knows how I've managed to restrain my frustration at the damn thing. Doing HIIT on the treadmill, where my heart is fit to burst, it says I'm in the 'fat burn' zone; at least 30% below the actual rate. Then, during my warm down, it'll tell me I'm in the 'peak' zone, despite the fact I can hold a conversation with the guy on the treadmill next to me. When I do intensive work with weights, where I can barely find breath to push another rep, it'll tell me I'm in the 'fat burn' zone - ridiculously inaccurate.
I've tried wearing it tight, loose, and every position in between. I've tried resetting it, logging in and out of the app - all to no avail. The ONE thing I really wanted from a fitness tracker was an accurate heart rate monitor so I could maximise my efficiency in the gym, and the Charge 2 is next to useless on that front.
The other issue, which starts off as mildly annoying but soons becomes infuriating, is the clock. If you want to view the time, you have to turn your wrist in an exaggerated motion and the Charge 2 'might' comply, but often doesn't. You then have to wave your hand around like you've got acute pins and needles, just to check the time - it's ridiculous. I'd happily sacrifice a day's battery life in return for a display that was on all the time, but Fitbit steadfastly refuse to offer this function.
This is my second Fitbit device and I'm afraid it will also be my last.
The sleep tracker works well and will definitely indicate if you have an issue with sleep or not.
The app is good for logging, although the bluetooth sync can be a bit slow at times.
The only downside is that he strap will fail within a year if it is used a lot. This is because the connector they use for the strap is very cheap and will tear from the silicon strap and then break. However you can pick up 3rd party straps for very cheap which seem to be higher quality.
