I have been really looking forward to getting my mitts on this... First Strut Is The Deepest is superb! Every single musician shines, the groove is amazing, the vocals are stunning, smackety-smack drumming from Mr Tontoh making me smile every now and then, and the last track can even bring a tear to my eye with that gorgeous sax tone! Fave tracks? but they're all so good! - ok, Vinyl is my Bible, Otha's Tune and Zaletnik. Oh and I love the party going on in the background behind most tracks. Gives it such a great feel. Buy this CD - you won't be disappointed!

I first found Brother Strut as a recommendation from a friend who sent me a link to "Chicago" on YouTube, what seems like an age ago - I've been waiting for this to be released with some excitement. I was blown away not just by how tight they were (unsurprising I suppose given their bio), but also how much fun the music was! I'm (badly) scatting the musical hook in Chicago as I write this, and nodding my head with a (slightly deranged?) grin on my face.

Needless to say, all of their years of experience has paid off in the production of the CD - everything sounds amazing, especially through a decent pair of headphones, and more than justifies me buying the CD over continuously blitzing my data allowance on the online videos.

If you've any interest in soul, funk or jazz, or are a musician yourself, you should listen to this. It's great.

Been looking forward to this release, and although it's a great cd, I was disappointed to find that Lorna Fothergills version of Back In Black wasn't on it! Such a shame, cos Brother Strut and her did an amazing version....live the album tho, I'm a big fan of Brostrut!

This album is a must have for any jazz, funk or soul lover - it's absolutely funkin' brilliant!! As a drummer myself I can safely say that not only is Frankie Tontoh brilliant on the drum kit, but the the rest of the band are all just as incredible. My personal favourite songs are 'Metropolis' and 'Bags of Funk'! You will not be disappointed if you purchase this CD, so what you waiting for??!! Go and get your funk on!!! :P Haha

Love this CD. Every track immensely enjoyable. Playing this everyday since I got it, on my computer and in my car. Best tracks for me are:-
Bags of Funk, Let The Truth Spill Out, Blind Eye, Vinyl Is my Bible and Otha's Tune. Great Sax, Drums and of course the Bass.

A truly great album!! Every track is enjoyable - so good to hear such talented musicians playing real music. My favourite tracks are Metropolis - brilliant solos and love that syncopated funky rhythm and Zaletnik - Steve Jones shows not only that he is the ultimate in smooth, sultry sax playing but he is one hell of a songwriter!
