EDIT: The essay I wrote shortly after reading this book was given an outstanding first class with 5/5 marks for layout! Many thanks to the author!
At first I was sceptical of the title. I would never recommend a student attempts to write an essay in 24 hours (although I'm aware that it is done by some of my students - sometimes to an exceptionally high standard!) but, having said that, the content of this book really, really impressed me.
The guidelines it sets forward - if taken on board - will certainly help students achieve first class marks. The vast majority of undergraduate and graduate marking that I do is spent penalising basic errors of poor structure and failures to answer the set question with sufficient focus and analytical detail. After reading this book I really think it provides a de facto method of avoiding those pitfalls and opening up the door (to steal the writer's analogy) to those top marks.
Additionally, it is written in a style that is highly accessible to students and not quite so dry and dense as some of the similar materials in our University library).
So all in all, very impressed. Would recommend to any undergraduate, postgraduate - and even an A-Level student wishing to get their essays in spotless order before university!
Hope that helps,
This book showed me step by step how to break it down into
manageable and effective chunks. I wouldn't be without it!

As a mature student returning to University to do an MA after 20 years out, this book has refreshed my memory, and focussed the mind. Short, to the point, and informative.Published 7 months ago by Puppets1986
Really useful, I was nervous about essays before reading this, I'd preciously got 61% so a low 2:1 but hopefully my next grade should be much higher.Published 7 months ago by Jordan
