I was so eager to read this book the 2nd in the McSwain and Becks series that I downloaded as soon as it was released! And I was not disappointed at all. Sydney finds herself on a very personal mission to save the people closest to her. While at the same time she realizes that something very dangerous is going down at Sutter Beach connected to the July 4th celebrations. She has no option but to draft in the help of her secretive and rambo style father, but he can only help her anonymously as he is working covertly. This brings them closer together and Sydney starts to realize that her father does have genuine feelings for her and maybe she should give him a break. The connection between Sydney and her sidekick Cody is wonderful, all through the story you are gunning for them and hoping that their obvious spark turns into something more! This story keeps you on the edge of your seat and turning the each page eagerly... This was a beautifully written and exciting story and I cannot wait for the next in the, McSwain and Becks series by this very talented author.

Never before have I read a book from this author but it was fantastic. The chemistry between the main two characters is great, and the plots great . Looking forward to more.
