HASH(0x9d77d120) out of 5 stars Amazing Love Story 16 Dec. 2015
By Deb ~ The Club - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Melanie is an author who has recently her job, to focus on her next book she rents a house from her friend Leah. A few days after she gets there she takes a much needed break and heads out to the beach, when she comes back she is sunburned and decides to take a nap on the couch, naked.

Shane just so happens to walk in on her while she is sleeping on the couch and he is excited to know that he was right about who was renting the house and he is pleasantly surprised to find her naked and takes this as a sign.

When Melanie wakes, she is a little fuzzy and thinks she is dreaming up the hot man sitting in front of her! What follows is steamy hot sex.

When Melanie’s brain starts to put together the puzzle, she is not happy to find out that the most intense orgasm’s of her life were just given to her by her high school enemy Shane.

Shane has secretly had feelings for Melanie since they were in school and he decides to take advantage of the fact there is a hurricane heading their way.

What follows is 2 people who seemingly hated each other embarking on a journey through some key moments from their past that will either bind them or separate them.

This was such a beautiful story! Shane and Melanie were so amazing together, the story was believable and I could actually picture them in my mind as though I knew them.

HASH(0x9d78a588) out of 5 stars childhood crush 4 Feb. 2016
By romance4ever - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I like romance stories where the hero is crazy about the hero right away and becomes possessive & protective of her.
That occurred in this story. Shane had a crush on Melanie as a child/teenager and showed it in the way kids do, gave her trouble to get her attention. She gave it back to him. He gets jealous when other boys pay attention to her and reacts in a mean ways. They kiss at high school graduation but it never goes any further. They end up going to separate colleges. While in their late twenties they see each other again at Shane's beach house. Sparks fly and hot sexy times result. I loved that Shane never got over Melanie and when he sees her again all of those things rush back. She too was attracted to him and that has not changed either. I loved that Shane was willing to put himself out there and admit that he had feelings for her and wanted their night of a passion to be something more. I am tired of reading about a hero that has to overcome a phobia about making commitment to a heroine.

I liked that this is a KU book. I also liked that the story was told from both of their point of views. I always like hearing from the hero and heroine. The hero's sister and the heroine's friend's point of view was given. It was brief and I felt unnecessary to the story.

There were just a few things that I wish were different about the story. For one, I had to suspend disbelief a few times. For example, Melanie did not recognize Shane when she sees him again, first in a picture and then in person. The last time they saw each other was when they graduated from high school and were up close and personal. Shane's appearance did not change much and therefore there is no reason that she would not recognize him. He recognize her right away. Also at times the story was slow moving and not much happened. I usually like love making scenes but felt the book needed more story and less of them. In addition, besides a couple of pages of epilogue and scenes from when they were children, the story covered such a short period of time, like two weeks. I wanted their relationship not to be so condensed and show more of it, letting their love for each other grow.

Loved this super sweet, light, sexy romance! A little bit of humor, a little bit of suspense, a lot of steam and an absolutely wonderful hero!

-Full length, Standalone
-HEA & Epilogue
-Dual POVs
-Switches between past (H&h as kids/teens) and present
-No OW/OM drama or cheating

Would love to read a book about Leah too!

HASH(0x9d5ba2dc) out of 5 stars Amazing story of finding one's HEA where they least expected it. 16 Dec. 2015
By Dee Archer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Delightful love story of Melanie and Shane. As school mates, their interactions with each other was anything but pleasant. Years pass, they grow up and their worlds take different paths. However, Fate steps in and draws their paths together once again and with the help of one meddlesome step sister, Mel and Shane begin their journey of dealing with the past, of letting go of traumatic past events and coming to grips with true feelings that have been buried and denied forever. Very entertaining. Five Stars.

HASH(0x9dbd024c) out of 5 stars 3.5 stars 31 Dec. 2015

Overall Opinion: This was a cute hate-to-love themed story. It was a pretty light read with little angst, and absolutely no OW/OM drama or interactions. It ended before we got to really experience them as an official couple (because the h is hesitant to call what they had more than casual because of her past), and even though there was a cute epilogue I would've appreciated more time with them "together". I did find it enjoyable, but I don't think it'll be all that memorable or go down as one of my favorites.

**See goodreads.com/NMmomof4 for my full review with spoilers**

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Melanie and Shane's story. They've known each other since 6th grade and have always been enemies. There has always been an underlying attraction for both of them though. 9-10 years later, they meet again in an unexpected way and get stuck together in a hurricane. They get steamy, have strong feelings develop, work through some personal demons, and eventually get their HEA ending.

POV: This alternated between Melanie and Shane's POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Good. I didn't feel the need to skim at all, and it flowed well to where I read it fast.

Instalove: No. They've known each other for a long time (flashbacks as far as 6th grade), so the feelings had been building for a really long time.

H rating: 4 stars. Shane. He was a stupid boy that didn't know how to show is true feelings, but he turned into a pretty sweet man.

h rating: 4 stars. Melanie. She was pretty feisty, and I felt for her when she was dealing with her traumatic past.

Sadness level: Low. I didn't need any tissues for this read.

Heat level: Moderate. They have good chemistry with a good amount of steamy times.

Descriptive sex: Yes

Safe sex: They use condoms their first time, and then they talk about their std status and that the h is on birth control and chose not to continue with the condoms. The H indicates that he never had intercourse without condoms, but the h suggests that she has.

OW/OM drama: No

Closure: It had kind of a quick ending, and I wanted more time with them as an official couple. It did have a cute epilogue that gave us closure for the couple and a glimpse into their HEA ending.

How I got it: It was part of my kindle unlimited subscription.
